0:00 Hi everyone, today we're taking a look at Sync2Sheets. 0:03 It gives Notion the superpowers of Google Sheets. 0:06 It's a simple integration that connects 0:08 your Notion database and keeps it in sync 0:10 with Google Sheets so that you can run any types 0:13 of visualization, dashboards, metrics, analysis, 0:17 and anything else that you might find intuitive 0:19 in Google Sheets there so that you can keep using 0:23 both tools in a good way. 0:25 There are many platforms already using Notion 0:28 and they are using Sync2Sheets to go from one to the other. 0:32 So it's a simple integration, 0:34 you can update your Notion, create pages, do stuff, 0:37 and then you get a sync with Google Sheets 0:41 on the other side. 0:42 It makes a lot of sense because a lot of people 0:44 are using Notion, a lot of people are using Google Sheets, 0:47 so the natural thing if a person uses one or the other 0:49 is they'll want to sync it in some way. 0:52 The website is really good, in my opinion, 0:54 it explains everything really well of how to, 0:57 like the main benefits, how it works, 1:00 how to keep it like a real-time copy. 1:03 There's a lot of testimonials already 1:05 which is really good for social proof 1:07 and they have a lot of examples to clearly display 1:10 exactly what it does, so it's like an integration, 1:12 it lives as a sidebar in the official app. 1:15 You can simply install the add-on 1:17 and it goes to your Google Workspace if you click on it 1:19 and then you're ready to go. 1:21 It's very simple to get started 1:23 and that's what I like to see. 1:25 So let's take a look at how the SEO is set up 1:28 and anything that we can find of ways to improve it overall. 1:31 So Sync2Sheets has a good title, in my opinion, 1:34 and it's less than 60 characters 1:37 and it gives Notion the superpowers of Google Sheets. 1:40 So it has the main things like the keywords, 1:43 Notion, Google Sheets, 1:44 and it has some benefits that it displays. 1:46 So if we search for something like Sync2Sheets, 1:49 we can see that the title is definitely long enough 1:52 and it gives all the information right here 1:54 in the description, so that's very useful. 1:56 If we look at some of the key things 1:58 that people would be looking for, 2:00 one thing that you find immediately 2:02 is that Google gives us some information, 2:05 so we see already Notion2Sheets, 2:08 which I believe should be a competitor, 2:10 and then we see some other keywords 2:11 that are relevant to this keyword as well. 2:13 So it's Google's Autocomplete helping us a little bit, 2:16 so you can see that Sync2Sheets and Notion, 2:19 it has already a bunch of search volume, 2:21 like 20 searches per month, 2:23 and if you're ranking on top, 2:24 people are ready to purchase 2:26 whatever you're selling in this position. 2:28 That definitely helps. 2:29 Let's take a look at who's ranking for this keyword. 2:32 Of course, Zapier is running paid ads on this, 2:35 and there's a bunch of videos first up, 2:37 so there's a whole video section. 2:39 So one way that this would help Sync2Sheets to rank 2:43 is make a lot of videos that clearly explain 2:45 how to sync Google to Sheets. 2:47 You can simply display your pop-up, 2:49 or your plugin, and that will help already. 2:52 The next thing that we see that is very helpful 2:54 is there's an official integration with Notion, 2:57 so they published their app on Notion, 3:00 and that gives them a little bit of ranking power 3:02 to rank higher, and we see that 3:04 it already has a bunch of backlinks, 3:06 which is a really good sign, 3:08 because that's very helpful for ranking your page higher. 3:10 It doesn't mean that your own website, Sync2Sheets.com, 3:13 has to rank higher. 3:14 You can also use other Parasite SEO pages 3:17 to also make sure that you rank high 3:20 for specific keywords, such as Notion. 3:22 So you can build links to your Notion page, 3:25 to your Notion integration, 3:26 which also gives you the same types of customers. 3:29 If you have an integration on the other side, 3:31 for example, on Google Sheets, on Google Workspace, 3:34 you can also have the same benefit, and also rank higher. 3:38 Here we can see some developer links, 3:40 so make sure that these are correct. 3:42 These seem to be both set, 3:44 and they go to the Twitter, LinkedIn, and so on. 3:47 So that's really helpful, 3:48 and some free backlinks from Notion itself, 3:50 and it gives you a bunch of helpful 3:53 backlink juice as well. 3:55 Otherwise, we see that there's a competitor here, 3:59 Coefficient, there's a free plan. 4:01 So what definitely should help 4:02 is making sure that you have a similar page. 4:05 So on the subreddit is Art Notion, 4:08 you can make a similar post that says, 4:09 like, here's how to sync Google Sheets to Notion, 4:12 and then mention something like your app 4:13 in the first comment or directly. 4:15 Here we see exactly again, the Google Workspace. 4:19 So that's the next strategy. 4:20 They're covering this keyword really well, 4:22 either to Notion, potentially Reddit in the future, 4:24 you can make a video that's even better, 4:26 and you can have already a Google Workspace. 4:28 So this gives you also like reverse backlinks, 4:31 and also has a few more positions that you can cover. 4:34 There's even a blog post, Notion versus Google Sheets, 4:36 which one should you cover? 4:38 So here we see immediately the other competitor 4:40 that we mentioned, Coefficient, and syncwith.com. 4:44 They rank a lot lower, which is really good. 4:46 So that gives us a lot more power in general. 4:49 So actually we're covering one, three, and four already, 4:54 and as our target, sync2sheets.com. 4:56 So that's very helpful. 4:57 And here are the other links that we checked. 5:01 So here are the backlinks for the Notion integration page, 5:06 and here are the backlinks and the top pages 5:08 for some of these competitors. 5:10 So let's take a look first at the backlinks 5:12 for the Notion integration page. 5:13 So we are linking from 41 pages from sync2sheets.com, 5:17 which is really good. 5:18 That's very helpful, 5:19 and gives a lot more power to the integration. 5:22 We see that it's linked here in the footer probably, 5:25 which is very helpful. 5:26 Here we see an integration library. 5:28 That's helpful. 5:29 I'm not sure if there is a link to the workspace, 5:32 but I guess it's in the install add-on as well. 5:34 There's a bunch of other backlinks here. 5:38 So atomic-asides, these seem to be direct copies 5:43 in some way. 5:44 Potentially, this is more of a black hat strategy 5:47 that we're seeing. 5:48 Let's take a look and open a bunch of these. 5:50 So yeah, they are not HTTPS. 5:53 So that's not a great sign. 5:55 But otherwise, this seems to be more like a public PBN, 5:59 like a private blog network that's being in use here. 6:01 And they all have like a canonical realt Notion. 6:04 Or it is this Notion itself doing it, but I doubt it. 6:06 So this seems to help. 6:08 And it is ranking actually the number one. 6:10 Yeah, that seems to have worked out fine. 6:13 Let's close this up and take a look 6:16 at some of the competitors and their own top pages. 6:19 So for our top pages for Sync2Sheets already, 6:23 we are seeing that Notion pricing is ranking okay-ish, 6:26 but it's not super useful in terms of 6:30 getting like extra customers. 6:32 Because, for example, Notion2Sheets is very good, 6:34 and they're ranking the position one here. 6:36 So maybe that's like the previous domain that they had 6:39 that they're still getting a lot of links from. 6:41 Sync2Sheets.com. 6:42 The other ones are Notion2Sheets, position three, 6:45 and Notion Google Sheets, Notion2GoogleSheets, 6:48 and Notion Spreadsheet. 6:49 If we start by volume, we see that Notion Database 6:52 is also being ranked for here. 6:54 Notion Plugins, Notion Updates, 6:56 Notion Spreadsheet, and Google Notion. 6:59 So some of these could be potentially, 7:01 if we take a look at the longer list of keywords 7:03 for the homepage, 7:04 potentially these could also be specific blog posts. 7:07 For example, Notion Updates, 7:08 you could list like Notion Updates in general, 7:11 Notion and Google Doc. 7:12 The thing that you would have to do, for example, 7:14 is export Notion Table to Excel. 7:17 Take a look at what else is being shown in the top 10 here, 7:20 and seeing what things we can do to improve. 7:22 Google Sheets and Notion are also very relevant 7:25 for our position. 7:26 Otherwise, here we have the coefficient top pages. 7:30 As we can take a look at, 7:31 this seems to be a competitor. 7:33 So they have more top pages 7:34 on profit and loss statement templates, 7:36 receipt template, Google Sheet inventory template. 7:39 So they seem to be more in general terms about Google Sheets, 7:42 not only about Notion to Google Sheets, 7:44 so they're a little bit broader. 7:46 Potentially you could use a lot of these keywords as well 7:49 to also make like a blog content strategy 7:51 to Google Sheets, alternating colors, and so on. 7:54 Potentially this helps, 7:56 but you just need to find people 7:57 who are more relevant to Notion. 7:59 Maybe one way that you can do that 8:00 is quickly filter here on the words and the keyword, 8:05 or a keyword here, and then type in Notion, 8:08 and seeing any pages that they have in the top 8:11 that also include Notion. 8:12 Potentially here we have another competitor, syncweb.com. 8:16 Let's do the same, immediately filter on Notion, 8:18 and that makes the list a little bit more clear. 8:21 So here we see, if we filter back on Notion keywords, 8:25 we export Notion table to Excel, 8:26 very high, potentially. 8:29 Notion charts, Notion spreadsheet, 8:31 Notion PNG, export Notion table to Excel, 8:34 embed Google Sheet in Notion Google Sheets. 8:36 Potentially a good keyword as well. 8:38 Protect pages, and so on. 8:40 So not super relevant. 8:41 And here, another one, 8:43 they just have an integration of SyncWith, 8:45 and this is the only page. 8:46 So SyncToWith is already ranking 8:48 a lot better than the other ones. 8:49 Export Notion table to Excel. 8:51 This keyword seems to be taken by Superdata. 8:53 Superdata is a Notion website builder, 8:58 so that's relevant to them, 9:00 but they are just writing about this 9:01 to attract more people in general 9:03 who are using Notion for exporting content, and so on. 9:07 So coefficient is also ranking here in Reddit, 9:09 so one way you could also include your SyncToWith app, 9:12 and yeah, mention it in some way, 9:14 or write a blog post about it. 9:16 But yeah, it's not super relevant 9:17 because it's more about Excel and Google Sheets. 9:19 So a Google Sheet to Notion is a very relevant keyword. 9:23 So say Peter, again, is running ads on this. 9:25 Potentially this could be a good way as well 9:27 to run ads, or make a YouTube video, 9:29 and one of these coefficients, as you can see, 9:32 is also running ads videos on this. 9:34 So this could be a potential way 9:35 to just record a video like I'm doing, 9:38 and show your app being created. 9:41 It doesn't have to be long. 9:42 This one is only two minutes. 9:43 And you make the example core use cases, 9:48 and then you explain how to do it. 9:49 And then you can even repurpose your video 9:51 to a blog post, to a Twitter tweet, 9:54 or like a LinkedIn post, and so on, 9:56 or other types of content like Pinterest and whatever. 9:59 So that's very helpful, 10:00 and it doesn't waste your video time, 10:02 because potentially we see that. 10:04 In either case, videos are ranking in the top here, 10:06 because it's like a how-to tutorial, 10:08 and videos work really well always in this case. 10:10 Here we see Google Workspace, again, SyncToSheets. 10:13 Very high, and then Notion as well, again. 10:15 Notion, way super low, so SyncToSheets. 10:18 So in my opinion, actually, 10:20 for the main keywords, they're ranking really well. 10:22 So I don't think they need so much more effort 10:24 to rank higher. 10:25 Maybe they already reached some kind of maximum. 10:28 Instead of wasting a lot of time, 10:31 either try doing more YouTube videos, 10:33 getting more people to use it. 10:35 So you need to widen the net a little bit 10:37 in content marketing, 10:38 and also write more about things 10:41 that you can do with Notion spreadsheets. 10:43 Maybe you could make a Nomad List clone, 10:45 or you could make some types of apps 10:47 with Notion and Google Sheets, 10:49 so you could create a database, 10:50 or explain how you can do SEO, 10:53 reporting automatically with Notion and Google Sheets. 10:55 So for example, if you have Google Sheets data 10:58 that's being uploaded or updated all the time, 11:00 you could make automatic reports in Notion. 11:02 And that's something that also is very helpful. 11:04 Instead of just writing only for SEO, 11:06 so like size Notion versus Airtable, and so on, 11:10 they don't really have so many pages, right? 11:12 They don't really have so many blog posts. 11:14 Their content marketing can be very broader a little bit 11:17 here, more specific to being helpful to users. 11:20 So it can help them in customer success 11:22 and sales and marketing as well. 11:24 If you say, here are more example use cases, 11:27 why you wouldn't use this type of Notion 11:30 to Google Sheets integration. 11:32 So that way that you can explain people, 11:35 okay, here's more, some useful ideas 11:37 of why you would use this type of tool. 11:39 Maybe you want to optimize reporting, 11:41 but then you could write more blog posts 11:43 about like reporting templates, 11:44 or like agency reporting templates, 11:47 or backlink templates, for example. 11:51 Also very helpful, so you can see 11:53 marketing reporting templates. 11:54 It's very useful, all this type of stuff, 11:56 for agencies, for marketers, for SEOs, for startups, 12:01 so that they know exactly, in a better way, 12:03 how to display their content, 12:05 either in Notion or in Google Sheets. 12:06 Either way works. 12:07 For example, link building, email templates. 12:10 So these types of tools would be very helpful. 12:13 So more like about reporting, 12:14 either find like your customer. 12:16 Now it's just more like broad and everyone. 12:18 You are showing some examples of companies 12:20 using Notion and so on, 12:22 but it would be more helpful 12:24 to build some use cases and case studies 12:26 to explain more in depth 12:27 why people would need to use this tool. 12:29 But otherwise, for your main keywords, 12:31 it is working well. 12:32 It's just, okay, it's limited, right? 12:34 You don't really have so much of broadness in here, 12:37 except if you add more stuff that is not Notion. 12:40 Maybe you can sync other stuff to Sheets. 12:42 For example, you can sync a Google Search Console 12:45 to Sheets or Google Analytics to Sheets. 12:47 You can embed like HubSpot to Sheets. 12:50 So that would be also like a much broader way 12:53 of going in that direction. 12:55 Otherwise, the competitors for the keywords 12:56 are of course Notion, 12:57 because you have so much stuff in common. 13:00 Superdotas, but they're more like a website builder. 13:02 Blank Labs, I don't know about them, 13:04 but we can take a look at some of these competitors 13:06 and open it up and see if we find 13:09 just a few more things or examples that we can target. 13:12 But otherwise, it would also make sense 13:14 to try to run a few paid ads on your main keywords 13:17 that you're getting the most traffic from. 13:19 So that would be very helpful in any case 13:21 for getting more results. 13:23 Let's try this again. 13:25 All right. 13:26 So yeah, if you are getting a lot of traffic 13:28 for Notion versus Google Sheets, 13:30 just build paid ad keywords on Google Ads 13:33 to these specific blog posts. 13:34 And also for Notion to Sheets, 13:36 you can also run just paid ads uniquely for each keyword 13:40 that you're getting the most traffic from. 13:42 Just make it unique and link it directly 13:43 to the same page that it's working. 13:45 So take a look at Google Search Console, 13:48 filter it by the pages, go to the pages view, 13:50 and then build keywords and paid ad groups 13:55 on Google Ads for all of these. 13:56 So that will be very helpful, I think, 13:58 also getting a little bit more traffic and conversions, 14:00 potentially on a bit more broader net, 14:02 then you can also run remarketing ads 14:04 on this Google Performance Max and so on. 14:07 So that would be a good idea of expanding a bit more 14:10 and improving the click-through rate in general. 14:14 The other thing that you can do, of course, 14:15 is improving the conversion rate on the website, 14:18 do some A-B testing and so on. 14:20 So final thing, these are the competitor content gaps. 14:25 So Landmark Labs, they're writing about Notion templates, 14:28 Notion AI, Notion calendars, Marko's template. 14:31 So weekly calendar templates, as I mentioned before, 14:33 all of these templates are useful 14:35 and will be useful for you 14:37 in building like a broader content marketing plan, 14:39 because as you can see, 14:40 clearly they have a lot more volume. 14:41 And Notion template, selling digital products, 14:44 is Notion free, done for you digital products, 14:47 highly scheduled template. 14:49 So all of this stuff can be a little bit more broader 14:51 in general, scorecard and so on. 14:54 Here we see how to resize an image on iPhone, 14:57 note-taking templates. 14:59 So more stuff about Notion, Notion covers, 15:02 Notion tutorial, book tracker templates. 15:04 So I think the templates can really be helpful. 15:07 So you can build like templates either in Notion 15:09 or templates in Google Sheets. 15:11 So maybe you can make like a bunch of like 10 templates 15:14 in Notion that you can, if you're looking for something, 15:17 for example, like a CEO reporting template 15:19 and you make this template in Notion 15:21 and you can say, okay, 15:22 now here's how you connect it to Google Sheets. 15:25 So that would be very helpful. 15:27 So it's like Notion connected Google Sheet templates. 15:30 So that would be like a huge benefit to users 15:33 and it would improve like the value of your app. 15:36 So you can say, okay, here's how to add on 15:40 the pricing, maybe you can improve this video 15:43 by offering also like a bunch of templates for free. 15:45 Let's finish up the content gap check. 15:48 So here we have hard copy and paste. 15:50 So they are more about like emojis, not super relevant. 15:54 This one seems to have a bit more of everything. 15:58 So it's not very relevant, 16:00 just YouTube templates and so on. 16:03 So yeah, here we see the pricing. 16:05 Finally, we have five databases, 16:07 sync templates, page creation. 16:09 So one thing that you could try in the premium plan 16:12 that is maybe offer like a bunch of free templates. 16:17 So you could say, okay, you buy this premium plan. 16:19 If you buy it right now, 16:20 you get 10 professional Notion templates for free. 16:24 And you can also include this as a header section 16:26 in your app and say, okay, 16:27 here's 10 professional SEO reporting templates, 16:31 Notion template for SEO. 16:34 As an example, a bunch of people are doing this. 16:36 For example, here, SEO Growth Kit, 16:38 they are for sale, I believe. 16:41 Either Notion Stack, Notion Way, 16:43 offers these types of stuff. 16:45 Let's take a look what types of templates we have. 16:48 So either potentially, 16:49 but maybe a potential is that you can also host these 16:52 on the Notion templates, 16:53 and then also either make it as a purchase, 16:56 which is an extra $50 that you could have. 16:58 But you can say, okay, 16:59 this template is actually possible 17:01 to connect it with Google Sheets, right? 17:03 And then you could say, okay, 17:05 if you get this purchase 17:06 and then you email the creator in some way, 17:08 you could also have a free trial 17:09 or a month for free of Sync to Sheets. 17:12 And if you are able to list a bunch of these templates, 17:15 that would give you also like extra benefits. 17:17 So you can sell these templates specifically, 17:20 or you also have these backlinks from about this creator. 17:23 So that's maybe some extra things that you can do 17:26 that will help you get more sales, 17:27 customers, traffic, and so on. 17:30 So you would have like multiple Notion templates. 17:33 So maybe the Notion templates is a really good strategy. 17:36 It's programmatic SEO, it's valuable. 17:38 You can add more pricing and add more benefits 17:41 to write about these templates and how to use them, 17:43 and so on. 17:44 I hope this really helps and good luck.
