0:00 Hey everyone, welcome to another SEO roast. 0:02 Today we'll be taking a look at TriHoverify, 0:04 a Chrome extension that has many different useful tools 0:08 for software or web developers. 0:11 We'll be taking a look at what type of things 0:13 that they can do to improve their SEO and grow faster. 0:17 So before I start, we launched something 0:20 called the Programmatic SEO course at magicspace.co. 0:24 So you can go over here, 0:25 check out the Programmatic SEO Threader Kit 0:29 and pre-order for sale. 0:31 We've been using this Programmatic SEO strategy 0:33 for a lot of customers 0:35 and they've been able to grow faster. 0:37 So that's why we're packaging all the things that we did 0:39 and all the strategies we use 0:41 and even all the code and starter kits that we used before. 0:45 So for example, in our audit of TriHoverify, 0:49 I'll highlight definitely a lot of stuff 0:51 that they can do for Programmatic SEO, 0:53 which also makes sense for them. 0:55 So before we start, we can take a look at the website 0:59 and see if there's anything that we can improve 1:01 just on the first glance. 1:03 Usually it has a personal opinion, 1:05 but also some on-page SEO work. 1:07 We use Ahrefs SEO Toolbar for this 1:10 and we generally check the main stats. 1:12 So here we can see the metrics right away. 1:15 For example, the main rating is 30, 1:17 they have 320 backlinks 1:20 and they have a little bit of traffic on their website. 1:24 The next thing that we check is the content, 1:26 which means like the on-page SEO. 1:28 For example, we see that their main keyword 1:31 or the main title that they have here 1:32 is an all-in-one browser extension for web development. 1:36 If we Google this, 1:37 we will see right away that they are number one, 1:40 but it also doesn't have so much volume. 1:42 Like people get it, 1:44 but the SERP keywords that they generally use 1:48 are a little bit different. 1:49 For example, the things that we can see here 1:51 using our extension that is also called Keywords Everywhere, 1:55 we see that the keywords that generally 1:58 are being used here on this list, 2:00 for example, here try hoverify is ranking for hoverify, 2:04 but the second one is ranking for Chrome extensions. 2:07 The next one is Chrome extension for web developers. 2:10 And we can also see if we use the toolbar for Ahrefs 2:15 that we can click and see the specific keywords 2:19 that some of these SERP pages use. 2:21 For example, the third one, 2:23 they have the organic keywords 2:25 for Chrome extension for web developers. 2:27 If we then sort it by volume, 2:30 you will see that Google extensions is of course very big. 2:33 Best Chrome extensions is being used, 2:35 but they're not really ranking for this. 2:37 So a quick way to filter for that 2:39 is to filter out by position up to 10. 2:42 And we see that, okay, this is a better list. 2:46 It's sorted by volume, 2:47 but they're also ranking for this here. 2:49 And the best, most relevant keyword that we see 2:52 is a web developer extension. 2:54 And in this list, 2:56 we see that the cool Chrome app store is being ranked first, 2:59 which is good, right? 3:00 Because you can rank your own page here, 3:04 but it's even better instead of having this 3:07 as a like a paid tool, 3:09 that they already get people to download it to itself. 3:14 Without get hoverify, 3:16 they just download it right away 3:17 on the Chrome developer store like here. 3:20 And they, for example, web developer just added to Chrome. 3:23 And then you can ask later for a payment. 3:25 So I would change this to improve the conversion rate, 3:29 to remove get hoverify and just get it now, 3:32 just make it like immediately like download to Chrome. 3:36 And then you ask for a payment later 3:38 to in the Chrome extension pop-up or toolbar or whatever, 3:42 or you offer some features for free 3:44 and then get paid later. 3:46 Because if you were able to rank on Google, 3:49 you'll get, as you can see here, a million plus users. 3:52 This is gonna be a lot easier to close 3:55 a lot of these people and get a lot more sales 3:57 than to sell something 3:59 that you first have to get a payment for. 4:01 Even they have a lot of ratings and everything. 4:04 So the competition is quite difficult. 4:07 The other ones that we see here, 4:09 mostly because Google.com that we're browsing on, 4:12 that they showed like their own properties. 4:14 So they will show another Chrome app store. 4:16 Here's another one with 10,000 users. 4:19 Here's someone who works as a web developer 4:22 and making Chrome extensions, 4:23 or there's also like a page similar. 4:26 The title is just web developer, 4:28 but they're ranking because they have a 76 domain rating. 4:31 Meanwhile, yours is 30, right? 4:32 That's what you remember. 4:33 Then the other examples here are also docs 4:37 for Chrome developers, Firefox add-ons. 4:39 BrowserStack has a listicle 4:42 on the 22 best Chrome extensions for web developers. 4:46 So what you want for sure to get listed 4:49 on this result for this keyword 4:52 is you don't want a Chrome app store plugin 4:55 that you can just sell right away. 4:56 You can add backlinks to this from your website. 4:59 Plus you make sure that you get listed in the listicles. 5:03 To get listed in those listicles, 5:06 I would recommend using linkedr.com. 5:08 And then you find a lot of these examples 5:11 and you can email everyone in bulk. 5:12 But if you don't have this tool, that's fine. 5:14 It just simplifies a lot of work. 5:16 But the idea is you would go to the about us section, 5:21 try to figure out like the email, who they are, 5:25 maybe contact them on LinkedIn or Twitter 5:29 and send them something like here. 5:30 Hey, I'm interested in other. 5:33 I would like to get mentioned for my tool 5:36 in the Chrome web extensions listicle. 5:39 And that will move up your position 5:42 in the Chrome web extensions listicle. 5:44 And then you can also find a lot of these examples 5:47 that you can actually get listed here. 5:49 You'll get a lot more traffic for free, right? 5:51 Maybe you can offer them some things 5:53 like an affiliate program 5:54 or a free usage of your tool and so on. 5:57 So this will be the most relevant, 5:59 but also it will help to change your title a little bit 6:02 to web developer extension hoverify 6:06 or hoverify web developer extension. 6:08 This will make your title just a little bit shorter. 6:11 And the other things here is if we check the on page H1, 6:15 here, Alex Napier Holland, he made a little tweet about it 6:20 that you can improve your conversion rate by a lot 6:24 by really talking more about what specific things you can do. 6:29 So this will help a lot. 6:30 Read this guide by him, 6:32 and then you will see a lot of tips 6:34 that you can improve for your landing page. 6:36 For example, instead of supercharging 6:38 web development workflow, 6:39 it doesn't make sense because this could be like a cursor AI. 6:43 This could be like a Chrome plugin. 6:45 This could also be like a smart AI assistant. 6:48 This could be just to get help copilot. 6:51 It doesn't really say anything what it is about. 6:54 You could just say the web developer extension 6:56 that will help you do a lot of things or something, right? 7:01 But you have to think about it yourself 7:02 maybe because it's quite a lot, right? 7:04 So as far as your traffic goes, 7:07 if we go deeper into an exploit that we see on Ahrefs, 7:12 the overview that you have been growing for some time. 7:15 So we started zero traffic and now it's going up. 7:18 So you take the time to invest into SEO rows 7:21 and get this, purchase this rows that we're doing publicly. 7:25 Now for your backlinks, they're quite good. 7:28 So you have the hoverify reviews, 7:31 you're getting reviews, that's good. 7:33 It drops off quite quickly. 7:34 So you might want to try some of these ideas 7:37 for Googling the keywords 7:39 and trying to contact everyone to get backlinks. 7:41 That's one that works the best, 7:44 but also you need a bit more pages. 7:45 So you have the tools list and you have just one blog. 7:50 For a start more than a website with this simple trick. 7:54 This is decent. 7:56 I wonder if this title is long enough. 7:58 So one thing you can check 7:59 is you Google the URL and this will show us 8:03 that the pattern was being showed correctly, 8:05 except the last part is missing. 8:07 So that's fine. 8:08 But I would see, for example, for your blog, 8:12 to Google this, for example, voice dark mode, 8:15 and then see what else ranks. 8:17 And then you compare your site to another one. 8:20 And for example, you can check the first blog post here, 8:24 how to voice dark mode on every website in Chrome. 8:27 For example, here, they talk about Chrome specifically 8:29 and you talk about Firefox and Chrome. 8:31 So one way you could improve this 8:34 is just having two different variants. 8:36 So you have a blog post for Firefox 8:38 and another blog post for Chrome. 8:40 And to be a bit more specific, 8:42 I'll potentially get you to rank higher 8:44 because you can add more examples, right? 8:47 You can, you will show this example, 8:49 but they show a lot of screenshots. 8:51 There's like an experiment where you add 8:53 auto dark mode for web content and so on. 8:55 You go to the Chrome Flex. 8:57 So your examples and theirs is like completely different. 9:00 So you would want to write more blog posts like this, 9:02 but just compare your keyword to the other SERP competitors. 9:07 So otherwise we have a bunch of tools here. 9:11 So we have an inspector, a color eyedropper, 9:13 responsive viewer, assets, a SEO side stack, 9:15 a website screenshot and so on. 9:18 These are really good tools. 9:19 So there's a lot of possibility here. 9:21 The only thing is that I saw on Ahrefs 9:24 that you just have one tools page. 9:26 So it goes to tools and this is like a free tool 9:30 for a color eyedropper, which is not bad. 9:33 Okay, it's nice that you have this. 9:36 Just might not be enough for Google 9:38 because let's say you Google color eyedropper, 9:40 you actually have this example anyway. 9:43 Free eyedropper tool, this seems a bit more specific 9:47 and potentially a little bit better result 9:51 if you compare left to right, you'll see that there's one, 9:56 they have an image in the top, 9:58 you have a share button, it says free, 10:00 it has the result and everything. 10:02 So that's nice. 10:03 This will help you a lot better. 10:06 So let me show you otherwise some ideas 10:09 for programmatic SEO that you can use. 10:12 So for example, you can have a programmatic SEO 10:17 for like hex colors. 10:18 So that's something that we did at gradient page. 10:21 For example, you would have a lot of different UI gradients 10:24 or list of colors over here. 10:27 So as an example, you can have every color listed 10:30 like 0080 and this is the blue color. 10:33 This will allow you to have a million pages plus 10:36 and you can use this one for your color eyedropper. 10:39 For example, you select it and you have a backlink 10:42 with a specific color page link to that one. 10:46 So that would be a bit useful. 10:49 Otherwise you can have a previewer. 10:51 So maybe you have a screenshot on your website 10:54 where you can list a lot of examples. 10:56 Otherwise you can have, the site stack is also very good. 10:59 So if you have a site stack, 11:01 maybe you have a free site stack checker, 11:04 but you can also list all these websites. 11:06 So what is the tech stack behind, for example, hrefs.com. 11:13 We see that we have WebAlice, websites using hrefs. 11:20 So they are doing some of this, 11:23 but also I know, for example, about buildhub.com. 11:25 So find out all the websites to build with. 11:27 If we drop in your own website here, 11:30 we'll be able to do a lookup 11:31 and we'll see that you installed plausible and so on. 11:33 So they have a specific landing page 11:36 for your websites out here. 11:37 And it's, for example, here, build with try hoverify 11:41 and it's an unique page. 11:43 And this way they have about 25,000 pages, 500K views. 11:51 And they are showing basically all of this stuff here. 11:55 So for each domain that people look up 11:58 in your Chrome extension or in your website, 12:01 we'll be able to show a huge list. 12:03 But then if you have this build with idea, 12:05 the next bite is you can build the relationships. 12:08 For example, you can do a reverse check. 12:10 Like here, the top website's using Dolt 12:12 and then show the Dolt usage statistics, 12:15 analytics and so on. 12:16 And this would move your simple Chrome extension website 12:20 to more like a database 12:21 where people can look up anything and find anything. 12:24 And this way you would have like millions 12:26 of programmatic SEO pages 12:28 and potentially get the same amount of traffic as build with 12:31 because this is very useful information. 12:34 So maybe you could even have SSL stuff 12:38 or is it using WordPress or DNS statistics, 12:41 make move all of these to like free tools 12:43 or checkers or a domain directory 12:46 where you can have the simple results like this 12:50 with categories and everything. 12:52 This would help you also get backlinks 12:53 because someone would be like, 12:55 okay, here's a reporter, a journalist. 12:58 He would say, here's a Dolt usage analytics. 13:00 Here's how many people use Google analytics. 13:02 Maybe it's dropping, maybe it's something else. 13:05 And then you can also do the locations. 13:08 For example, here's the USA versus Switzerland 13:11 and the usage of specific tools 13:14 based on IP address and so on. 13:15 So this would be definitely very useful. 13:18 Website previewer, maybe optimizer SEO. 13:23 Yeah, you can have the free on-page SEO checker. 13:26 Green shots are also good. 13:27 For example, you could have this in a free tool section 13:30 where you have a screenshot that you could take 13:32 rather than see you have this one yet. 13:35 But I think for programmatic SEO, 13:37 the build with idea is very good. 13:39 And the colors idea is also very good 13:42 because it definitely works. 13:44 Web analyzer also has a bunch of stuff. 13:46 Let's see. 13:47 They have lookups for the specific website 13:50 and they also have like specific technologies. 13:53 For example, websites using shop pay and so on. 13:56 So this definitely is a good strategy. 13:58 For gradient page, let me show you 14:01 the statistics that we have already here. 14:02 So it's growing quite quickly. 14:04 As you can see, even I relaunched this website 14:06 like last year or about last year. 14:11 And now it's really being shown a lot more. 14:14 So we have all of these UI gradients. 14:17 So for each gradient, we have a little 14:19 programmatic SEO page. 14:20 For example, showing blue to orange Instagram gradient. 14:23 And people look for this and then they find it 14:24 and they copy it. 14:25 And this is something you could also have 14:27 for try hoverify. 14:28 Just all the colors you picked 14:30 have like a unique link or like a shareable link. 14:33 And this would be very useful for people to get more info. 14:36 And this way you would also get a lot more traffic. 14:39 I hope some of these ideas help 14:41 and try it out, give it a try. 14:43 Thank you for taking in a SEO roast 14:45 and definitely check out the course that I made 14:47 on actually implementing a lot of this 14:49 programmatic SEO stuff. 14:50 Good luck.
