Hello everyone, welcome to another SEO roast. I'll be taking a look at a website that I use for SEO roast itself. It's part of our affiliate program. If you scroll all the way down, you'll find ours. We have an affiliate program where we offer 30% for everyone who buys one of our tools packages. So all of our tools are available here and you can buy credit. And if you get a sale, or if you can recommend someone using our affiliate program, we'll give you 30% of that. Otherwise, if you promote our orders, like our SEO audit that Daniel bought for Tolt, we will also give you 30%. So this could be a public video audit or a private video audit. It doesn't matter. Both are eligible. So let's take a look at who we're reviewing today. It's as I mentioned, Tolt.io. They're an affiliate marketing software specifically made for SaaS startups. So they are one of the better tools that I've found that works with this. It works very simple. You can connect your Stripe account or other software that connects with them, and then you get an affiliate portal and you're able to track everyone who comes through that portal and pays you a percentage through an affiliate link. Usually those affiliate links have a question mark ref equals the partner, some type of ID that you have, and works really well. We love it. And we recommended a lot of people who are also doing a SEO that they should get an affiliate software that they use similar to Tolt. I'll add a link to Tolt as well in the description so you can sign up and take a look at it. It works really well. And it's one of the best ways to do marketing for your SaaS startup because you can, once you can promote your tool in multiple ways, you can get more referrals to your tool in multiple ways. It works. It's really useful. Definitely. For example, if you're getting links, you're using a tool like linkdi.com where you send people emails and ask for a backlink. If you have an affiliate program, people might be more inclined to link back to you because you can say, hey, I will give you a 20% of every sale. Can you just add us to your listicle? For example, if you have a listicle on the best affiliate marketing software, if you look for something like this, usually those listicles start with best. For example, Shopify best affiliate marketing software, G2 Post Affiliate, or the first article that we find, Adam Connell has an article on 12 best affiliate marketing networks and platforms for your SaaS. So they talk about ShareASale, they talk about PartnerStack, they talk about Arun, Amazon Associates, Walmart Affiliates, Rakuten, CJ, they're a bit older, Butter Pepper Jam, Appengate. I don't really like this list. It works definitely well, but I don't think it's a good list for SaaS. So maybe that's something that we can add. If we add SaaS in the end, we see a little bit of a different list. We see Rewardful coming up quite often. Rewardful is one of the bigger ones, and we also see Told over here. We probably want to compare in just a few minutes how both of these work. SaaS affiliate programs, here they are looking for platforms that use a type of affiliate program. So these are not the targets. The problem is someone who is looking for an affiliate program or a SaaS affiliate program doesn't mean that they're looking for software. So it's annoying, for example, here we search for affiliate software, but it's giving us again affiliate programs that you can join, not a software to use for affiliate. That's tricky and annoying. Let's see. So we have a bunch of these examples over here. What we can start in doing is opening up Told itself in Ahrefs and seeing what we can find. So they have a high domain rating of 72. The reason for that is it's one of the best ways to get traffic. For example, Rewardful itself has 73. I would think this is one of their biggest competitors. If you compare them side by side, Told has quite a bit, has almost the same amount of referring domains. That's really good. That's what you want to look at because it's individual domains that are linking back to you instead of just the total. The total seems a bit random because probably some random website has just a million links to them, but it doesn't mean that they're individual links. So that's not something you can really control or do anything with. For organic search, we see that we have for Told 522 keywords and 482 traffic, which is okay, but Rewardful has about a 10x or a 4x on the amount of keywords and a 10x on the amount of traffic. They also do paid search. So they have keywords and traffic that they're bidding on, and it's useful to see what type of pages they bid on and what type of keywords they bid on. For example, here we see that they're bidding on partner stack affiliate program, which is good, and for the on-brand name. Rewardful affiliate system, switch to Rewardful, affiliate tracking for Stripe. Affiliate tracking for Stripe is good. Affiliate tracking for SaaS is good. These seem to work for them quite well. We can also look at the paid keywords. This gives us a list of the keywords that they think are super valuable, so much valuable that they are willing to spend money on this. So SaaS affiliate program, affiliate marketing links, referral tracking, referral marketing system, referral reward for pricing, Stripe affiliate marketing, and referral tracking program. So these are some of the top ones. We can copy this list over and drop it into the keyword explorer to take a further look at this. So here we have all of them, and then something that is interesting is we can see that who has the traffic shared by this list. There is a quick way to see who is also competing in this and which articles we can find. For example, we see that Rewardful.com, GetRewardful.com, which is similar to Twitter, partner stack because they're bidding on their competitors, and also YouTube. The YouTube is interesting because that means that if we have similar YouTube capabilities, so we're able to produce a video, something simple like recording yourself, you can make a similar video to this. For example, here, affiliate dashboard, how to create and use it. You can make something with this. How to make money with partner stack affiliate program. This one, how to make passive income, property and partner stack. So some of the videos about partner stack in here. Affiliate marketing links, affiliate course, version affiliate. So some of these are potential videos you could make to also rank for these keywords. Otherwise, we have Reddit as well. That is very useful because it helps us find more communities that we can market in. So here, if we do a quick check, we see that we have affiliate marketing over here. Affiliate marketing, SaaS, affiliate marketing, SaaS. So mostly SaaS and affiliate marketing and restaurant, which is not relevant, and Shopify for some of them. So for these keywords that they're bidding on, that's the list that we get. Based on this, we can actually do something like here, copy over this list, and then we have also like a lot of keywords that we could use that is Reddit SEO. I'll prepare this so we can go through this a little bit later. But meanwhile, we can check further for the top pages for dolt.io. They've been growing for the last two years, or one year, and they seem to be growing steadily. Although it's not like a huge spike. If we compare this to a competitor like rewardful.com, we can also check their top pages, which is a very useful thing because we see that they were, at this point, we're told that about a year ago, and now they've been growing a bit more exponentially. We can compare this like here and see where exactly that growth came from. So here we see that their top changes have been mostly getting this keyword affiliate software. So they went from position 13 to position one, and they went from affiliate marketing software to position 14 to position one. So they really captured this keyword specifically, which you gave them the most traffic over here. So affiliate marketing software, we can open those keywords up, affiliate management software, referral program ideas, and so on. One thing that we can do as a check in a bit is comparing which of these keywords overlap. So first for a dolt, we have dolt itself as a keyword, so a bunch of people look for this. And also for affiliate software. So we can see that we have the same keywords already, we'll be just in the lower position. We want to get this position a little bit higher, and that's quite difficult because that is not just adding a keyword or writing a new blog post, it's really focusing in a competitive way to aim for your best keyword. And that's quite a tricky process. It's not always clear exactly how to do it. Is it more backlinks? Is it more better on-page SEO? Is it more brand marketing? And so on. But I found a few ways to go about that. So I would focus on that actually. So we have a few blog posts. The traffic drops off here quite quickly. That's something you can see. So we have a lot of traffic here for the homepage, and then we have a little bit of traffic for the blog. Open source affiliate software. They're one of the first ones where they talk about the top two affiliate marketing software, which is Reflio and Raider. Not super useful, but okay. It's still good to have the traffic. So Stripe affiliate program. This is also very relevant and very useful. The cost per click is quite decent. Does Stripe have an affiliate program? It's potentially either people looking for how to promote Stripe to other customers or how to set something up. So this gate is really good for them. Let me do a quick check on here on the on-page. The one thing that we check for the host toolbar is the overall display statistic. So if we want to rank higher for this, we see that we don't have that many backlinks yet. You want to maybe add a few backlinks to this page. The thing that we check for title and description are very simple. Does this make sense? Yes. It looks good. The description looks good. It's all green. The first heading is not a H1. That's something that you can fix. You shouldn't use headers for your navigation. These are meant for your content. So that's something that you want to fix. Otherwise, this looks decent and not specifically dramatic in any way or useful. We can check also the SERP titles. If we see something that really title is too long, we can also propose a fix. But here, everything looks mostly good. They're quite small titles, as you can see. Voice Toys affiliate program. These are like customers using them, Job Bolt, Bolt, and so on. Heroes is not there, but still. And affordable. What for alternative? This seems to work quite well. Their alternative pages are very high quality, and this gives them the best traffic. Position A, 2, and 17. I would actually really focus on this, because this seems to be going well, so that it makes sense to double down on this. If we specifically filter on the alternative pages, we see that your traffic has been growing well for these. And they get a decent amount of traffic. One thing that we could check is the backlinks. For example, on all your alternative pages as a wildcard, you only have one backlink here specifically. So that's something you can 100% sure improve. If we check the volume for all your competitors, the top one is Rewardful, Affiliate, Partner Static, Affiliate Program, Competitors, people looking for photos, Revenue, Sign-On, Stripe Hound Affiliate Program, sure. So leave that as an alternative. Here we find a lot of guys over here after a while, but still, it's nice to be able to rank on Rewardful. But yes, if we check Share, also on this page, we only have the one backlink to this page, which is some Amazon thing, decent. But actually, what I would do is aim to get backlinks to all of your alternative pages, because these are working quite well. We want to push those up just a little bit higher. That's my suggestion. So I'd like to check backlinks for your blog. I think you only have mostly stuff on your blog, on your homepage, which is getting you all in traffic, but your blog is suffering from that. It doesn't really rank. That's why the positions are not that high. So the first one. So you want to distribute the amount of links that you send, because all your million or 600 domains, they are sending backlinks only to your homepage, as far as I can see. And then the login, and of course, the people using them. So you want to spread that equity in some way, because here we have the Powered by Thought. This is giving you the juice to go back, to spread that juice from that customer to your subdomain, back to your homepage. So that is something that you want to make sure that you offer. One potential thing you can improve for your conversion rate here is you, if you have something that, for example, is quite famous, for example, you can see, okay, Tattoos.ai, I know them. They have an affiliate program. And then in the end, you have a Powered by Thought. You can actually detect in your homepage, if you use something like Next.js, and you can detect that this person is coming from Tattoos by using the ETM source. And now you can have a banner in the top where it says something like, Tattoos.ai is using Told for affiliate marketing. You should use it too. Here's a coupon or something, because that could improve your conversion rate by quite a bit. We did something similar for IndiePage. You would, if you click here through MagicSpace, you will have the referral, right? Someone from IndiePage gets a ref link, and then you can detect that it's being sent. And here, only for this ref, I show like a tweet by Mark that he posted about MagicSpace. But if you go to this page without it, you will just see the standard logos. So that's actually something clever that you could try that could improve your conversion rate just a little bit by getting all these people linking back to you and potentially visiting the traffic. That would be clever. So let's continue. We have affiliate marketing software. We have affiliate software, affiliate management software. I feel like they're the same. The parent topic is affiliate software each time. So we can come back to this later. But here are some tips for keyword research. If you're still stuck, I saw you have a few blog posts. But you probably want to have more. So how would I go about finding these? The first one that is super useful is using Reddit. You can see what types of keywords that affiliate marketing is ranking for. For all the subreddits, here's about 30,000 traffic, 1,600 pages. You can see that people are talking about ghost commerce, affiliate marketing websites. These are where do you find good affiliate offers, not super useful. How to start affiliate marketing, very useful article. Because you could say like, how do you start affiliate marketing? Let's take a look. It's, well, you use Shopify or you use How to Start Affiliate Marketing from Beginners, Locate Remember, Ahrefs, here's the Reddit blog post. You can always write a comment, except this one is locked. But you could say, you could see, for example, if someone is talking about it, how do you start affiliate marketing? These are all archived. How do you start marketing? Ah, these are all archived. That makes sense. So you have a few. If it wasn't, you could write a comment. Otherwise, you could rather make a video or pay one of these people so you could contact Central Media and ask him to write a comment or to find their contact details by going here and have more. Find the email address, fill this in, and you'll be able to find the email. Just write to them and say, hey, I built Tolt, would you want to promote us for affiliate marketing? We could give you a percentage with a special coupon code. So that works really well, and it's a basis for LinkDR, finding all these potential influences. So Shopify, Hostinger, Becomers, you could have your own blog post here. Just make it super useful. And because people are looking for this, you could also promote it on Reddit and your newsletter. Maybe when people sign up to Tolt, you could give a free ebook or guide or video course that says something like, here's how to start affiliate marketing, how to make more sales, some tips on making brand assets, some tips on how to promote your affiliate program, what to email people, and so on. So this could be a potentially useful guide to get more people to actually implement your software because if they implement your software and don't churn, they will keep buying and you will have a really good recurring revenue. So TikTok Shop Affiliate, Dave Sharp Reviews, Digistore, Legendary Marketer Scam, Affiliate Marketing on Pinterest, also a good one. How do you do it? It's the same type of people, Central, Shopify, Reddit, same ideas apply, you can buy traffic. You have the best affiliate marketing programs. These are also things that you can join as specifically the tools. Is affiliate marketing worth it? Good question. Where to promote affiliate links, digital affiliate marketing, Clickbank alternatives, affiliate marketing success. There's affiliate marketing word. As you can see, there's like a goldmine of all different types of keywords and because we are sorting them by page, for example, make money with pay-per-click, there's a lot of keywords that have variations in here. They are grouped and clustered by in the page, so you really don't have to do the effort of figuring out which groups of keywords you have to do. You can just export this list, drop it into Google Sheets or something. I'll send this over to you or include it in the report and you can follow this one specifically and then write some stuff there. Let's do this quickly. Let's remove this one, just call this one keyword volume and here boom and just add a column like done and yeah, you can just focus on these keywords for the next by an item if you're interested. This gives you a rundown. One thing that you can also do is reuse this list, put it into the keyword file and then we will also know more keywords potentially. Here we have high-tech affiliate marketing sorted by the amount of keywords and this gives us a little bit more stuff to play with and this could also be, again, a next step based on this of which keywords to implement on your blog or it depends, kind of. For example, if you have some keywords, they could either be a blog, they could either be something else, so KD, volume, cost-per-click, CPS, we don't really care about, parent keyword we can skip, global volume we can skip as well. So this is a quick list, KD, volume and so on. So you can work on this list as well and see, for example, which one you want to add, how to start that. Affiliate marketing with no money, good question because we're all broke. So if we have this list, one thing that we can check is related terms just in case. So we have more keywords, affiliate marketing is big, Amazon Associates is big, search suggestions, similar results by domain. So a big list again and using this, all the keywords that we got from Reddit to figure out which other domains rank for those keywords that have an overlap with Reddit, useful and it's going to be potentially a big list. It's probably going to be Shopify, Reddit and some other websites. So Reddit is number one, of course, because that's where we got the keywords from and surprisingly the share is 9%, it could be higher. So Shopify actually really focuses on affiliate marketing because they also get a lot of these traffic and they have like half of the keywords that Reddit also has. YouTube is big because it also makes sense. Sephora because people are talking about Sephora skincare, makeup, beauty affiliate programs, those are from Reddit. So this one for Blacklinko, health and fitness, fitness affiliate programs, high-paying affiliate programs, Quora, GetResponse is going to be like a link building tool of some kind. HeartRater landing page, high-traffic page, solo ads. Why I'm going to this domain list? Because sometimes you find interesting websites. For example, ClickBank, they got blocked by Ublock for me, but you really can't see based on this list who is also competing for all of these keywords. It doesn't make sense to copy stuff from Blacklinko or Shopify because they do everything. But ClickBank specifically to me seems like worth following because they are also an affiliate marketing hub. They have a high domain rating. They have a bunch of backlinks. So we could also check their top backlinks, filter on the best links only. And then we get a nice list of people talking about ClickBank. It's made a complete guide to affiliate marketing. And this is one really useful way that you have in Linkedin and other tools soon. And that's figuring out and exporting this list. So we can export this list for the top affiliates for a bank. And then we can email everyone here as well. And tell people, hey, I saw you are... I won't share this, but you can check yourself maybe. But you could email Neil Patel and say, hey, I saw you have an article on the complete guide to affiliate marketing. I see you recommend ClickBank. Can you recommend us as well, Tolt? Also, 2ET Handcarrier with email marketing. DevNegotiator, 20 programs. 7 Best Affiliate Marketing Courses. Super useful, super valuable. You want to be in this list. You want to be mentioned here. So here's Amazon Associates. Here's a bunch of other people. ClickBank. Why is not? Why isn't Tolt here yet, right? Because probably he didn't send an email yet. A quick way, I'll show you how to do it. You click on the person. You try to figure out like where they are. And you can send a message over here. If you have something like this and you can say, Tolt, hey, I just saw that I'm trying to get backlinks for Tolt.io about to get traffic for Tolt.io. And affiliate software as well. Tag AllenLib. And see if she were interested. This is a really bad email, but better nothing. Yeah, you can. I'll just send it and reply if they send anything. Yeah, why not, right? So that's a quick way to do it. Otherwise, a slow way to do it could be contact as well. Find them here. Send them, fill in the entire form. Could be super well. Or you can use something like LinkDR. For existing affiliates, use this, right? So that's a nice way. E-marketing, easiest way. Using legal ways to make extra money fast. They're talking about Clickbank. They should also be talking about Tolt. GetResponse, affiliate marketing courses, and so on. Very useful list, right? As you can see, that's why we focus on best links only. Actually made an entire website about this. That sends people that get you these types of links more. And we've worked together with all of these people like Thibault, or Brian, Mark, to get those really nice top 0.1% of links by emailing people. Doing what I just did, but better. Because I only have a few minutes. So keep going. But yeah, I think we've run through the big list to have impact. One thing that I want to do as well before we wrap up is doing the competitive analysis here. So if you have something like Tolt.io, and we can add an impact. We can add, this is something I'll send to you in a bit. We can add shareasale.com. We can add partnerstack.com. We can add, I don't know who this was. Amazon, Walmart now, Rakuten now, CJ now, Partnerized now. Let's keep this list simple, revoidful. And then the affiliate. That's about it. So now what we're doing is we're looking at all the keywords that Tolt.io has, which is okay-ish. And all the keywords in impact, shareasale, partnerstack, revoidful, and affiliate have. And we match them across each other. So here we're looking at keywords that you potentially have, but also at least two competitors in this list have them as well. So this gives us a very direct and specific list of keywords. Here we see that there is a bunch of keywords that are interesting. So the top one here is affiliate software, affiliate marketing software, health affiliate software, prevent abuse, and so on. That's the same. Not a huge, useful list. This link intersect shows us all the domains that they're listed on. So they're listed on GitHub, Medium, Besprout, Diversion, Pitchfork. And if you try out LinkDR and get a demo of something, you can make a deal with Reconnex for this list and email everyone using LinkDR as well. One final thing that we mentioned, but we have a primary keyword like affiliate marketing software. I know you are supposed to be in this list, but not in this list, but you are rare for a word who is here. But I saw in one of those results that, oh, there's not that far. Okay, you are here on this page too. How do you get higher? One way that I realized that works is figuring out how to get in here first and finding ways to get more listicles about you. So for example, one way that Google works is you can click here in the triple dot. We see about the source and we can then check about more information. And we see that Google really likes that search is talking and using the source's name. So you want to get more citations like this. We want to be on G2. We want to be on product talent. You want to get more reviews, people talking about you and potentially also people giving you, here in this list we can see people making comparisons. For example, here if we check Revoidful, we see that they have a position on the listicle Shopify, Shopify, Shopify, influencer marketing and so on. So how to get higher and be promoted more and a higher position in Google, especially in a competitive keyword? You want to be listed in more articles like this. 87 DR, super high value, affluence, they're talking about Revoidful at number six, not nothing, but they're not talking about told. So you do want to do whatever it takes to get in this list. This could be, especially for a high difficulty page, this could be complex. It might be email. It might also be figuring out how to find someone on the team. It might be like stalking everyone on LinkedIn, like Koba, figuring out the LinkedIn, sending a message, maybe even finding a phone number and calling. Yeah, I don't know, but it's not easy, but it's definitely worth it. Find some contacts, make some ability to reach out, ask them for a review. Also here on Shopify, it's super hard to get in Shopify. You can't just send an email. It's quite hard to contact people. So you want to figure out how to reach Michael Keenan to send them some type of message, figure out some type of deal. Also get listed there because being able to be listed here is one of the most high value things you can do. The other thing, if you can't get into those top ones, you want to make sure that you get more best links only that for example, Rewardful has, the list that we showed you before, but also do this for all the other pages. For example, Affiliate also has 25 million backlinks. We'll have filter on best links only. Those are like some standard filters, for example, Stripe, affiliate marketing strategies. And you really want to aim for this best links only to get mentioned here. And ideally there should be listed codes like the top 10 affiliate marketing software for SaaS. And you want to get more mentions in those specific positions. And one final thing, you want to train Google about what your software is. For example, if we have understandings like here, we understand that Google has some type of algo about what it is, right? So all in one, help SaaS startups to run affiliate and more referral programs. So it will learn this type of stuff after a while, which you want to do is see if you have, let me check your backlinks, best links only. So 17 best affiliate marketing software. You want to keep those lists small. So Rewardful Stripe is, so the sentence you want to be linked in is like very simple. Rewardful Stripe is a straightforward way to set up affiliate and referral programs. So it's in the same sentence and it has all the words affiliate and programs. Next one designed for combating affiliate programs, okay-ish, but often what helps is a very simple thing like this is perfect. TOLT, maybe you can remove Stripe verified partner in the future, but it could be like TOLT is an affiliate program. And after a while, Google will understand like what is TOLT, it's an affiliate marketing software. And that way you get listed in these sources. So that's what we've been trying to do for these extremely competitive cases and keywords. We want to be higher. It takes a while, but you want to focus on really like the top links and listicles that have traffic or are affiliate themselves. So if you are an affiliate, of course you have, I know you have your own affiliate program that you want to try to email people, get listed in those high value listicles and get a little bit more mentions and backlinks. And it will move up your most high value keyword higher and higher. But meanwhile, while you're doing that, also focus on the blog posts and focus on the small, normal backlinks for your blog posts and your alternative pages. And that will give you more traffic overall. But of course the highest conversion rates will be for your main keyword, which you want to focus on getting those best links and so on. So this has been like double the length that I usually do. So I hope this is helpful and sorry for the long delay. I just got the lightning set up and the stuff in a new place that I'm living. So it took a while. So thank you so much. All right. Good luck.
