0:00 Hey everyone, welcome back to another SEO roast. 0:03 Today we'll be taking a look at Popadex. 0:06 It's your net worth tracked. 0:09 So let's take a look at things that we can find 0:12 for the SEO that we can improve. 0:15 First off, the title is very simple in the homepage. 0:20 It just says home. 0:21 Ideally, you should describe more or less 0:24 what your website is about. 0:25 So if you have Popadex home, 0:27 like people type this in and they see, 0:29 okay, this is the homepage, 0:30 but this doesn't really explain what the website is about. 0:34 For example, even your net worth tracked, 0:36 which is the H1 over here, 0:38 would be a more suitable title 0:41 than the one that they have here. 0:43 So ideally, it should be something simple like this. 0:47 Your net worth tracked, 0:48 this will at least have a higher CTR rating 0:53 for people who want to get to know what it's about. 0:58 For example, here introducing Popadex, 0:59 your network tracking solution, 1:02 this would potentially be even better. 1:04 For example, the tool description, 1:07 your network tracker, network tracking tool, 1:10 this will give us a better description for what it's about. 1:13 Even here, Popadex is a SaaS app designed 1:16 to streamline personal finance management 1:19 to consolidate all financial assets into one interface. 1:24 It's a little bit long, 1:25 but you could potentially improve this 1:27 to be a little bit shorter, 1:29 because at least we have a good 1:32 Popadex Crunchbase page over here. 1:35 So we have some other information on Popadex, 1:40 on YouStartups, Crunchbase, Reddit, 1:43 some other extra pages that are described in Popadex 1:47 over here. 1:48 So they have a few profile backlinks 1:50 that we talked about before 1:52 that help Google understand more what the website is about. 1:57 For example, Duarte wrote a Medium blog post 2:00 about Popadex's own tool, 2:02 and they have Twitter, Pinterest, Capybara, 2:06 some other pages that work well 2:08 for helping drive authority to the website. 2:12 So here on Reddit, we have the page on Swissfire. 2:16 This actually is a really useful page 2:17 because it really explains in a short and concise way 2:22 what Popadex is and what it does 2:26 and how it can improve the things for the user. 2:30 So that's really helpful. 2:31 This usually is what I would recommend 2:33 for having also on your landing page, 2:36 like not too many explanations. 2:38 It might be a little bit too long or too much GPT, 2:42 whereas here it feels like it's a little bit more concise 2:45 and meant really for users. 2:46 And that's what I would recommend for people 2:49 writing SEO content. 2:50 Just make it very simple. 2:51 Explain it to a friend, explain it to your family 2:54 what the tool is about. 2:56 And also Google will also like this 2:58 instead of typing too much text into one place. 3:02 File site, also here on Twitter, 3:06 there is a Twitter page that they also link to 3:09 from the bottom, Twitter, Instagram, Dribbble, Facebook. 3:15 All of these are very useful ways 3:17 of driving profile backlinks. 3:19 Here we have that it's a Jekyll based website 3:22 of Lightspeed, and it's talking more about Puppetex, 3:26 but not so much about what Puppetex is. 3:30 Potentially this could be another blog post, 3:32 but Google would just like this. 3:34 And TikTok and then Pinterest also are two pages. 3:38 So to go back to the website, 3:41 we have the homepage title. 3:43 This definitely should be improved 3:45 and the description is way too short. 3:47 Ideally, this should be Puppetex, 3:49 your network tracking solution. 3:50 And then description should be some type 3:54 of SEO meta description. 3:57 I made a quick toolbar that I use for my personal work. 4:02 So for example, network tracking, network tracker, right? 4:07 And then you can create a SEO meta description 4:11 based on this tool. 4:12 So the meta description should be something like, 4:16 track your network with Puppetex free tool, 4:18 monitor assets, liabilities, and financial progress 4:20 easily, sign up now. 4:21 This is an ideal meta description 4:23 and this is what should be used. 4:25 Just make sure that it's below 160 characters 4:27 and the title is below 60 characters. 4:30 But everything else on page Y seems to be okay-ish. 4:36 For technical SEO, we have the canonical area, 4:39 which is set, the robots.txt is set, 4:42 the sitemap seems to be set 4:45 and seems to include a lot of pages. 4:48 I'm not sure if all of these are correct 4:51 because it does have the homepage, 4:55 but the blog posts seem to be way too long to be correct, 4:59 but potentially this is also the case. 5:01 But this is something that could be improved. 5:04 We just need to check this real quick. 5:07 Yes, they have the full URL in the blog posts. 5:11 Ideally, I try to avoid too long slugs like this one 5:16 and I try to make them shorter. 5:19 Over here, for example, we see that the slug 5:22 contains the year, the month, and the date. 5:25 But ideally, the slug should be a lot shorter 5:28 than just the main keyword. 5:29 For example, this page talks about the importance 5:32 of financial literacy, a guide to success. 5:36 This is written with AI, I'm pretty sure. 5:40 Based on the description, because it's using FAQ 5:45 and then it talks about stuff in general, 5:48 but it has a few internal links, which is good. 5:51 But I'm pretty sure if people would land on this page, 5:54 they would see, okay, enter this world, 5:57 always the same key takeaways. 5:59 They see, okay, this blog post is just AI written 6:02 and they'll just walk away. 6:04 And then when they scroll back to the homepage 6:07 or Google search results page, 6:09 they'll see, okay, this doesn't give me any value, 6:12 I'm gonna look for something else. 6:13 For example, if people type in importance 6:16 of financial literacy, this page that shows up 6:21 is a low volume keyword first, 6:26 but the first pages are Investopedia, 6:29 which has a 92 domain rating, whereas Poputex has seven. 6:33 So it's very hard to rank for this one. 6:37 Otherwise, it's Forbes, then it's Standard Bank, 6:41 Corporate Finance Institute. 6:43 All of these are 80, 90 domain rating. 6:46 The first one that we see is, for example, 6:48 here at 25 domain rating. 6:50 That's the first one that we actually could compete with. 6:53 But this one talks about the importance 6:55 of financial literacy for students. 6:57 And it's a very short and simple article. 7:01 Although it does have one backlink 7:02 that we can check over here. 7:04 But potentially this is something 7:06 that we can improve from our side as well. 7:09 Otherwise, the pages that are ranking for Poputex 7:12 over here that we see are not even the homepage 7:17 because it's just a home. 7:18 And then the homepage will only rank for a home 7:21 or the name Poputex. 7:23 But if nobody's typing in Poputex on Google, 7:26 it will not show up as the homepage. 7:28 Ideally, what you want is to rank 7:32 for something like Net Worth Tracker. 7:34 And this is the ideal keyword 7:35 because it has about eight keyword difficulty, 7:38 2,000 search volume, and a $3 cost per click, 7:42 which is pretty good. 7:43 And then you have some tools, for example, 7:46 as a Net Worth Tracker app. 7:47 Over here, Pocketsmith or worthtracker.com. 7:50 And then you have some Reddit posts 7:52 and Apple Store, Play Store, YouTube, Money Wise, 7:56 and some affiliate content. 7:58 Ideally, this should be something 8:01 that you try to rank for as well as your tool. 8:06 This is a keyword like you connect your bank accounts 8:10 and you can see all your Net Worth Tracked over here 8:12 to the list and the product. 8:14 Ideally, this is a keyword that you aim for. 8:17 And long-term, you want to have this keyword. 8:19 So you try to add this in pages. 8:21 This is some essential on-page SEO, 8:24 for example, Net Worth Tracker. 8:27 You could change the H1 title over here, 8:30 add it in the SEO meta description and the title, 8:33 add it throughout your page. 8:35 For example, Evolve Your Financial Planning 8:37 doesn't help me understand exactly what it is. 8:41 It could be track your finances or something. 8:45 If you understand the financial landscape, 8:48 that's why we designed a Net Worth Tracker. 8:50 It's more than just a tool. 8:52 See, so you use Net Worth Tracker, 8:54 so why don't you use it in the top 8:55 that helps people understand more what your tool is about. 9:00 All your assets, one clear picture. 9:04 Yeah, assets, that dashboard, 9:05 maybe that would be more clear 9:07 as subscription pays for itself, how it works. 9:10 It could be, this might be good, 9:11 but it could also be how to track your assets. 9:16 And then the same step one, 9:19 integrate, connect all your financial data. 9:21 Step two, get a unique overview of all your finances. 9:24 Step three, plan budget and grow your wealth. 9:27 You're ready to take a leap. 9:29 Ready to take a leap. 9:30 Ready. 9:32 Try our Net Worth Tracker today. 9:39 This helps people already understand 9:41 more what the page is about. 9:42 Otherwise, it's like very generic and general purpose. 9:45 Doesn't really help so much. 9:47 Get in touch. 9:48 Let us help your, 9:49 let us help plan your financial assets. 9:52 If you have some free tools already, 9:54 Profitability Calculator. 9:57 This uses like a lot of text, 9:59 so try to use instead of chatGPT or GPT-4, 10:02 something like Cloud, 10:03 it will make your content a lot more concise and shorter. 10:10 Let's go over your savings potential. 10:12 Again, it's too long. 10:14 Make it more clear based on the keyword what it's about. 10:17 For example, here you have Profitability Calculator. 10:21 So just make it that. 10:22 That's super simple to understand. 10:24 Okay, so Profitability Calculator. 10:26 This is what the page is about. 10:28 And then here, add some more content. 10:30 For example, step one, enter your interest rate. 10:35 Step two, input your amount of savings. 10:38 Step three, input your duration. 10:41 And then press some button. 10:42 So the people, when they type in, they get a result. 10:45 This will help Google 10:47 and maybe your own signup page or email capturing logic. 10:53 So the other top pages are Network Tracker and Excel. 10:59 So Network Excel Templates. 11:01 So see why this page ranks well 11:03 and the Profitability Calculator 11:06 does not appear here in the Google at all 11:09 is because you have a nice H1 over here 11:11 that really explains well what it is. 11:13 And then it has also a bit more content over here. 11:17 So it has a bit more of a filled out information. 11:20 So this, I feel, is a bit too short, maybe, 11:24 but it doesn't really explain the templates so well. 11:27 So you could say in a template, 11:28 here's the stuff that you get. 11:30 You get some results. 11:32 None of the free versions should have a simple form, 11:36 but otherwise, you can flesh out this content a bit more. 11:39 For example, here, this is way too long. 11:42 This should be Network Tracker for Google Sheets 11:44 and just remove this one. 11:45 This doesn't make so much sense. 11:47 It doesn't help Google understand your website a lot more. 11:50 So this is a better call to action 11:52 where they control your financial future. 11:55 You could say ready to track your wealth. 11:58 That's maybe shorter. 12:00 Ideally, the thing that I see on your pages 12:02 is you have a lot of AI written content. 12:05 That's why it's not ranking so well. 12:07 And then it's like way too long most of the time. 12:11 It's having too many words. 12:12 Your path to prosperity, the best digital tools 12:14 for network calculation and financial tracking. 12:16 This is like way too long as a title. 12:18 Ideally, this should be something throughout the year 12:22 as well. 12:23 Ideally, something like 12:25 best digital tools for network calculation, 12:32 best net worth calculation 12:36 and a net worth calculation tools. 12:38 So this is a lot more shorter 12:39 and a lot more clear what the page will be about. 12:42 Also, this one is just like 100% Dolly or whatever generated 12:47 so it doesn't even make sense. 12:48 If someone even shows up on this page and they visit it, 12:51 they will leave right away because they'll see, 12:52 okay, this is AI, this is gonna be bullshit. 12:54 I don't even need to see this. 12:57 Ideally, you want to focus on some of your top pages 13:00 over here that are potentially already ranking. 13:04 None of them are. 13:05 So I would just focus on a few, one of these. 13:09 See, for example, this one has also like the same issues 13:12 of too long of a slug, 13:14 but here you have the mint net worth, 13:16 tracking wealth tracker apps, open net worth apps. 13:20 This is the keyword for this page. 13:23 So just make it exactly like this one 13:25 and then focus on improving the value 13:29 and the usefulness of this page. 13:31 So add images here, check if this is correct, 13:34 add a link over here, add a button, 13:37 really check if this is true or legit 13:40 instead of just the best net worth tracker apps. 13:44 This is all, I cannot even trust this, right? 13:47 Because I don't know if this is all gonna be true or real. 13:51 Maybe like Excel, okay, 13:52 it's a one-time purchase of Microsoft Office, 13:55 but of course people know that Microsoft Office 13:58 has different types of plans. 14:00 You can buy it online, you can buy it on MacBook 14:02 or as an Office package or Office 365. 14:06 So these content always makes sense. 14:09 And I, for example, 14:10 have a subscription for Microsoft Office, 14:12 so this is not 100% true. 14:14 Then maybe you could have some examples 14:16 and maybe some extra tips, for example. 14:18 Here's some templates, 14:19 a link back to your net worth Excel template, 14:23 for example, here. 14:24 Literally you have, hey, by the way, 14:25 you can use this list 14:27 and also add your Google Sheets over here 14:30 and then mint and then your own POPitX solution. 14:33 So all of these things will really help you 14:35 improve the usefulness of your blog posts 14:38 and that will really help you rank more. 14:41 So you have a lot of pages, potentially a lot of them 14:46 based on the pages that I saw on your sitemap. 14:49 There's a lot and they are even in Spanish 14:52 or other languages, 14:53 but none of them are ranking at all 14:55 because they're all just written with AI 14:57 and this doesn't give you any benefit 14:59 and they're all just like a mess, right? 15:02 So you don't, like, it doesn't even make sense. 15:04 Nobody will actually read this. 15:06 You don't need like hundreds of blog posts 15:09 that nobody will read anyway. 15:10 You really need two or three really good ones, 15:13 like so good that you'll be happy to share it on Twitter, 15:15 on LinkedIn, with email, 15:17 that are actually used for the people 15:20 and those will rank well and give you traffic. 15:23 You're trying to, I wrote about this on SEO audit. 15:27 There's a page called Seven Deadly Sins 15:30 and they talk also about this, 15:32 like you don't want to write too much, 15:36 like writing everything with AI, 15:37 you have the envy issue, 15:40 whereas like you're trying to get so much traffic 15:43 and then over time what happens is you crash 100% 15:46 because Google detects that it's all AI 15:48 and it's all like bullshit, 15:50 like there's no point in spamming hundreds of blog posts. 15:53 You just need two or three ones that are actually good. 15:56 You want to focus on users, not like search engines. 16:00 The other thing that you could try 16:02 is using something like TagParrot. 16:05 I'll add a link here 16:06 and then this will help you index your pages. 16:08 For example, you connect to a website, 16:09 for example, u.ly, 16:11 and then you say, okay, 16:12 I want to submit all of these for indexing 16:14 and then you publish them 16:17 and it will crawl and index all your pages 16:19 based on the quota. 16:20 So this will help force the indexing, 16:23 but if your pages are nonsense, 16:27 or like too much AI, 16:30 like this is clear, right? 16:31 It's okay to use AI sometimes, 16:33 I use it all the time, 16:35 but this is clearly not useful for people 16:37 because they will show up in this page 16:39 and they see, okay, this is like nonsense content. 16:42 It's just like spam, right? 16:44 And this will not really help you rank at all. 16:47 So what you want is to make this actually useful 16:49 so that you would share it with people, 16:50 even on Reddit, on Hacker News or other pages. 16:54 And I feel like this is the biggest reason 16:56 why your pages are not being indexed 16:58 and not ranking at all. 17:00 So just try to focus on improving the usefulness 17:04 by focusing on five blog posts 17:06 and making them really good. 17:08 And help your on-page SEO 17:11 by focusing on network tracker, 17:14 keywords on your homepage. 17:16 And this will already give you a lot more results. 17:19 Whereas for your backlinks, 17:20 you have a decent start. 17:23 So I think if you focus on getting 17:26 some of these changes for your blog posts 17:28 and on-page SEO, 17:29 you will at least start getting some traffic 17:31 and start getting some results. 17:33 And from there on, 17:34 you can focus on expanding more, 17:36 writing more useful blog posts, 17:38 which will help you also get more backlinks naturally 17:40 without even paying for them 17:42 because your content is so useful. 17:45 Especially if you, 17:47 if for example, 17:48 what I saw on Puppetex 17:49 is you have something, 17:50 for example, here is Swissfire, right? 17:53 You're introducing the page here 17:55 because it's being announced. 17:57 But for one thing you can try, 17:58 for example, if you have something like Swissfire, 18:01 you can check the Reddit for a specific page 18:05 and see what other people are talking about. 18:08 So you could write about like 18:10 the best saving accounts in Switzerland, 18:12 Flowbank for the Swiss quote, 18:14 Flowbank review, 18:15 wealth tax, 18:16 start a credit bank, 18:18 but also at different pages. 18:20 For a think book, 18:22 you have personal finance Reddit, 18:24 which is this page over here. 18:26 And you can do, 18:27 use the same as a way for getting keywords. 18:30 If you focus especially for UK, 18:33 it has loads of traffic and loads of content 18:35 and loads of keywords, 18:36 about 400,000. 18:37 It's so big that HFS almost doesn't even load this. 18:42 And here you can see, 18:43 for example, 18:44 perfect emergency loans, 18:46 best row for IRA, 18:48 what's a good credit score, 18:49 by credit card should I use, 18:52 distribute tax good, 18:54 5k funds review, 18:55 is lending tree legit, 18:56 how to buy a house. 18:58 All of this content will be a lot more useful for people 19:01 because actual people are asking this 19:04 and there's a lot of volume 19:05 and you could make this really useful 19:07 and like really do the research, 19:09 write something like useful like this, 19:12 but put it on a blog post format 19:14 and make it helpful. 19:15 And then also share it on Reddit and say, 19:17 here I made a guide and step-by-step guide 19:19 how to buy a house. 19:21 You can even divide it by countries, 19:23 but this will be a lot more useful 19:25 than whatever you have already on the blog 19:27 that's like nonsense content. 19:29 All right, I hope this helps. 19:30 Good luck.
