0:00 Hey, today we're taking a look at crowntvus.com. It's a smooth and sophisticated cloud-based 0:07 digital signing solution. So let's go to the website and see if there's anything that we can 0:12 improve in terms of SEO. They contacted us to take a look at some of the competitors. 0:19 They felt like some of these competitors specifically, optisigns.com, screencloud.com, 0:26 pixel.com, yodec.com, loopsdigitalsigns.com, they were outperforming them in terms of SEO. 0:34 So they were getting a lot of traffic. Meanwhile, they are working a lot of content and doing many 0:39 things for SEO, but they're not really moving forward as much as the competitors are. 0:44 And we confirmed this by taking a look at the organic competitors over here. 0:49 We put all of their competitors in the organic competitor tool. And then we can see crowntv 0:55 is the blue one. And they have in this year, compared to last year, moved up only just a 1:03 small percentage over here that we can see. So it's not even visible. So the other ones, 1:08 the other competitors, for example, loopdigitalsigns.com, they're the closest match, 1:13 although they are actually still getting a lot more traffic. It's about 20, 30 times more 1:22 than they are getting in terms of traffic. And optisigns.com has about 20 times more. 1:27 So it's quite a lot. And pixel has 30 times more, and they have been moving up. You can 1:33 check this quickly by looking at the dotted line that is not filled in, dotted circle that's not 1:39 filled in, compared to the filled one. And you can see them moving up. The biggest movers have 1:45 been the green ones, greencloud.com, and the other one, yodec.com. So they moved up a lot. 1:51 So they practically tripled or went 4x, 5x on their traffic. So you see them move all the way 1:58 up over here. We got sharing and traffic and the same keywords that they're targeting. 2:05 Otherwise, crowntv.us has about 53 domain rating. They have about 500 backlinks from different 2:13 domains, and they do get a bit of traffic. And while it is moving up, they feel like it's not as 2:19 much as it could be. We can see that it's true by taking a look at the homepage, for example, 2:25 that they are ranking for crownTV. But meanwhile, they're not really ranking for their 2:31 competitive keywords that they're trying to rank for. For example, one of those would be 2:35 digital signage, which we can see on their homepage. That's what they want to portray it to be as. 2:42 But they do have some pages that are working. For example, digital signage, New York City. 2:47 People who type this in, they might want to look for someone who is like digital sign companies 2:54 near me. Google makes this a regional keyword. So what happens is if someone is in New York City 3:00 and they type this in, they would get that specific result for New York City. So for them, 3:06 what they could do is scale this up to even more cities, which they have been doing. So Miami, 3:12 Houston, San Jose, and so on. So they have a lot of these types of programmatic SEO location or 3:20 region-based pages that are working well. They made pages for industries, for example, 3:26 for real estate. Those are more, I believe, usually like solution pages. We can probably 3:34 find them here. And this works quite well. The rest of the homepage just displays more or less 3:41 what they deliver. So they have a media player, they have a dashboard, a digital signage, they 3:46 have apps, they have an explanation of what digital signage is, and they have some rockstar 3:54 support and other information over here. So this feels like quite a bit of content that is on the 4:01 homepage specifically and that they have on the website. So the blog does exist and they have 4:07 pages such as Android TV versus VDA, or what is digital signage, waiting room digital signage, 4:15 internal marketing strategy, multiple TV wall, 10 best street shops for retail, church signage 4:22 ideas. So all this type of content marketing that they're trying to get people to look up and then 4:28 come back to them. This seems to be okay. They do have a lot of blog posts specifically, but I feel 4:34 like most of them are not really ranking that high. So they don't really feel the impact of these. 4:39 Definitely what I've been trying to do in the last few months is really focus on, for example, 4:45 keywords like this one. You can see benefits of digital signage. Their position is 23, 4:51 and potentially if they made it rank like five or somewhere higher, they would be able to get 4:57 a lot more traffic and actually get traffic to this page. But otherwise, this gets about zero 5:01 clicks. So one way that we try to do this is you type in the keyword on Google. Maybe it glosses 5:07 over a few things. You really need to compare. For example, they have eight benefits. They have 5:14 the number in the beginning. They have a short over here. They have the correct length for 5:19 meta description. Meanwhile, ours has the many benefits of digital signage, ultimate guide, 5:26 current solutions. So you see that the title is actually 94 characters. It's a lot bigger than the 5:33 61. So one way that you should try to fix this is by making the title a little bit shorter. 5:39 Instead of the many benefits of digital signage, you can take a look at how many benefits you 5:44 actually list here and say, okay, there's five or eight benefits mentioned and make it similar to 5:51 this one as a title and the SEO title for this page. Then you just compare each side by side. 5:59 So make this a numbered list. For example, the first H2 should be a number and then number one 6:05 benefit that you attract drive and traffic. Number two benefit, you increase purchasing decisions 6:11 and so on. So you want to take a look at who else is ranking for all these blog posts 6:16 and for these keywords and see what else you can improve. The other thing that I took a look at is 6:22 taking a look at the content gap. So you use these in the competitive analysis tool for an Ahrefs and 6:28 then you type in all the competitors that you want to compare it to. And here we see that we are 6:36 getting some traffic for digital signage software, which is the biggest volume keyword 6:41 for this target. We sorted by taking a look at if at least two competitors have this keyword, 6:48 it's very relevant. And especially if it's in the top 10, that means a lot of the competitors 6:54 actually get traffic to these pages. Meanwhile, you don't. One way that we try to figure out what 7:01 these good keywords are, because you can see they're listing also digital signage software 7:07 as, and then solutions, and then the best, and then digital signage software. So it's a lot of 7:13 overlap and a lot of the same, and of course the same type of website will rank for the same page. 7:19 So it's a lot of redundancy. One way that you can do this better in Ahrefs is by exporting the entire 7:27 list of keywords and then taking a look at the generated list. Then you can copy this over, 7:36 copy all the keywords, go into the keyword explorer over here, and then paste the entire list 7:42 back into the keyword explorer. Then you'll be able to take a look at all of the keywords that 7:48 you have the content gap for, but actually specifically look at some more in-depth 7:53 information. For example, we can see, you can add then filters. For example, on the lowest DR, 7:58 we can say, okay, our domain rating is 54. So we filter out some of these that are more difficult, 8:06 right? Or we see, or what we do generally is doing a cluster by parent topic. And then it clusters 8:15 all of these keywords into big, smaller groups, right? So for example, then we have the most 8:23 relevant keywords and topics, for example, cloud digital signage, and then we see who else is 8:29 ranking for this. You can take a look simply instead of opening up Ahrefs, you can take a look 8:34 quickly by opening up on Google and using the Ahrefs SEO toolbar or Keywords Everywhere. 8:40 We see who actually is ranking here for us. In our case, this is screencloud.com, and they're 8:46 getting a lot of traffic, 56 keywords, and they were the top one, and Yodak, which was the second 8:52 biggest one. There's also like Reddit in here, in this list, and some other competitors that we 8:57 haven't seen. Finally, we see that OptiSigns, one of those competitors as well. One way that they 9:04 should be able to get better results is maybe by backlinks. We can check this, for example, 9:10 by taking a look at the backlinks for just the homepage for both. So now we're using Exacto Rio. 9:16 We're taking a look at the homepage and the results that we get here. There are quite a few, 9:23 so the backlinks are okay-ish, except there's a few ones that are like completely zero, and then 9:29 this is not super relevant, 5 Best Accounting Softwares for Small Business, and then they have 9:36 a mention here by the SEO. And the 10 Elevator Pitch Examples to Convince Anyone 30 Seconds, 9:43 and then you have Crown TV for some reason. Elevator Pitch Examples doesn't really tell me 9:49 so much about Crown TV, so it's again a mention by the Head of Marketing the next year. And we 9:55 see that the anchors here mostly are for Crown TV, Digital Signage NYC, the website, emoji symbols, 10:04 and that's about it. For Digital Signage specifically, they have not super many anchor 10:11 tags that are highly relevant. Meanwhile, let's take a look at ScreenCloud, also mostly on their 10:18 homepage, Beginner's Guide. They have mostly links to their blog posts that are ranking well, 10:24 and that's about it. So it's very similar. The anchor tags for Yodak, also very same. So this 10:30 seems to be natural, so that's all fine, but it's still good to check. I talked to TownCloud, 10:36 Companies to Know, for ScreenCloud, I saw some of their top backlinks. What is Employee Training 10:42 and Development? So this seems to be a better one. Retail, Digital Signage, Ultimate Guide. 10:48 So it helps a lot when your backlinks, or posts that you have backlinks from, 10:55 they're more relevant. So this page, Retail, Digital Signage, Ultimate Guide for Beginners, 11:00 they have this keyword, and it has a backlink to ScreenCloud.com, somewhere here. And then the 8 out 11:08 of 10 customers, it goes to a specific blog post, which is, again, the 8 Digital Signage benefits 11:14 posts that we saw that seems to be working really well for them, and it's spreading a lot of the 11:19 link equity across the entire website. So they are really trying to power up this benefits page, 11:26 which is getting a lot of good traffic. The other ones here, how much do retail stores front signs 11:33 is still also relevant to the business. Digital Bulletin Board, for your office, 11:38 very relevant to the business. Bank, Digital Signage, also very relevant. So maybe one thing 11:45 that you can try is to get more specific relevant links back to your website. You have all of these 11:53 keywords that you could try to aim for. These are very relevant, and they are also matching 12:01 for your competitors. So Cloud Digital Software, Top Digital Signage System, Best Digital Signage 12:07 Software, make a page or get a page or a backlink from these specific ones. For example, 12:13 Best Digital Signage Software, this is the holy grail that you want to aim for, because all of 12:19 your competitors will also be here. So you want to get more backlinks from these specific pages 12:25 that are ranking here. Make a post on Reddit, or make a reply on Reddit. Make sure that you're on 12:29 Capybara, G2. You can make a YouTube video. Links that you already purchased or got backlinks from, 12:36 and say, hey, can we write a new post? And so instead of getting link insertions, 12:40 try to aim for guest posts that are also written for the keywords that you're trying to rank for. 12:46 And then finally, what you want to try to do is make sure that you rank very high on your homepage 12:53 for the keywords that you're aiming for. For example, ScreenCloud, we can see that they are 13:00 very, like the homepage is very good. So I would really try to aim to improve this. For me, this 13:08 example that is animated really explains for me everything that digital signage is. So it's like 13:13 stuff at hotels or signs or whatever. And then you have a lot of examples over here in the bottom, 13:21 and this really helps instead of this just like giant text in the middle about animation or 13:26 anything else. Then what you want to compare, for example, here they talk about digital signage 13:31 software. They have a lot of specific words that you might have or want to include. For example, 13:39 screen content, they talk about screen content. Maybe you don't. Simple digital signage solution, 13:46 effortlessly manage it, tailored solutions for industries. So take a look at all your competitors. 13:52 This is a very small homepage. It actually is a lot smaller than yours. Like maybe it doesn't 13:59 need to be that huge, and then you can maybe optimize a lot of the content. Instead of using 14:04 like too much text or too busy text, you might want to just make it a lot shorter and make it 14:11 clear to users that your app is being used by people. So that's what I would try to aim for, 14:17 and let's see if that helps you get a lot more traffic over time. Good luck.
