Hey, we're doing an SEO audit for cloudresidents.com, which is a way to get a real virtual mailbox with a real US home address. The first thing that I would check is to open the Ahrefs toolbar so we can open the website in Ahrefs itself, and here immediately we see a few things. that is that the domain rating is practically zero, and there's also no traffic at all, not in any country. So that means the website is very new and it almost doesn't exist. There are some backlinks, but it seems if we scroll through it that this was, like, posted in one place in, a, some type of, link building thing or, a press release, and that was, placed in many different sites. But if we filter on best links only, which is actually good backlinks, we are at practically zero links. So the way that I would try to, get more backlinks here is to actually google, some of the phrases that appear here. So the phrases that I notice are, for example, real US home address and real US res- residential address. If we look at this list and scroll down to the, real organic results, we see that there are, relate… a lot of related keywords like best virtual mailbox, residen- residential mailboxes. residential virtual mailbox also looks like an option, but the volume isn't too high. We see that it's zero. But here in the long tail keywords, I think, residential mailboxes is a pretty good option, here in this case. And then there-- and if we look again at here, this doesn't seem like the best option because it is, like an actual mailbox, that someone can buy, which is not what you want. I guess it would be like residential virtual mailboxes, which again is not, exactly what we want. So the volume might be fairly low for, everything else. So we have more options for digital nomads, for business, a virtual mailbox, US global mail, traveling mailbox, stable virtual mailbox, and a few other types. I'm guessing what this would be used for is like for banks, for example. f- and then can you re- recommend virtual mailbox that banks would accept? That someone that asks, and then here is a few options. So even though it's a fairly long keyword that maybe people are not looking for, there are like a bunch of Reddit and other community forum results, plus a bunch of, those results are being scraped or detected by Google AI reviews and then actually used in an answer. So here, they're bound by the Patriot Act and ver- require a verified physical residential a- address. so The, then they list, a few options. So Fintech account, sure. TrueLease is one of the options that we see, and then there's, a virtual post mail, 1Postal1, Anytime Mailbox, and some other ones that, you have to consider. But it seems like if we scroll through here, which is what I would recommend, you see a lot of these, places where the sources are being used in AI. And if we actually look at them, that might help you, inform your answer. For example, here, 1Postal, they have, this website is, digital mailbox service worldwide. And because they were used as an answer here, now we know maybe a few competitors that would be worth checking. And then here, if we compare that, this is, the way or the direction you have to go, towards, and that is having at least, a 3,000 backlinks, even if we change to best links only. They have about 500, plus they do a lot of paid ads and actually rank for Google, quite aggressively. So the ones then, once we have these top pages, what we know, starting from here is the keywords that lead to the homepage. In this case, it's like 1Postal, which is their, home brand name, but also, virtual mailbox service. That is, the keyword that people look for. Then we have virtual business, address, which leads to, this specific page. And then we can keep looking to find, the best possible match, like mail forwarding service, virtual mailing address, physical address for business, which is, interesting So this is good, but it doesn't include residential as much. So probably having s- if you wanted to expand and be bigger, you might want to offer like simple mail scanning and virtual mailboxes, not just, like a simple residential address, which is the final result. But for now, I think, let's look at a few more examples. So this is a blog post that works. Here is a few more options. And then there is a blog post from Nomadgate that talks about, the ultimate guide to virtual mailboxes for US banking purposes. Based on this article, we can also see in Ahrefs again by looking at the keywords, which keywords work for this blog post. So now we found like a perfect match for a blog post that we should have as well on, on our website, Cloud Residence. But if we do the reverse and we think, okay, which keywords actually link to this article that is very relevant, and these are the ones. So based on that, we know that best virtual mailbox for expats could work. I guess expats potentially they want like something more long term or they, they need a lease agreement of some kind for personal use, for banks that accept virtual addresses also like a small volume. Potentially you could write that, but it's not too insane here, the results. So let's check for the other option, and that is the real US residential address. So here we have a few options like true residence, get a remote US residential address, and then based on this, we can again check the keyword volume, and then we see that residential address ranks number five here, and it does have a little bit of, of potential search results. So what does UPS consider a residential address? And a blog po-- Reddit post, Quora, virtual post mails here. a guide to rank for residential address anywhere in the US. You could write like a blog post like this one, like what is the difference of residential versus postal address? And then you would have this article. And in the bottom or in the sidebar, you would say "Hey, here's how to get a virtual residential address, that works for US banking purposes." Similar with videos, this is also like a potential way that you could rank here. LegalZoom, they offer residential address, as a-- maybe not, but as a blog post, they have an article about it. Then there's more like residential versus commercial addresses. So a lot of these options are like a blog post, at least two of them, and two of them are like this, so like a landing page. So in your case, that seems to be a good fit, and if we compare the specific landing page, they say residential addresses, get a real remote, US home address. And I think yours matches pretty well. Maybe one word is missing is like remote, and you have both here. I would, try to make it a little bit shorter, and make the title, cleaner. do people need-- like this seems to be aimed for Americans, like they are leaving the US, but I'm guessing this is more aimed towards non-Americans who want a US residential address, for, a reason, right? Because here you also see in the description, like it's for non-US residents, right? so in that case, the title might not make sense. And having something simpler or a specific landing page where you have not everything on one single page, but you make a second page like, like they did slash, remote US residential address, and then you have a different headline and everything, that could work. But I think overall, your landing page looks pretty good, so I think that should work. so in that case, I think it's all fine. The difference here is that they have at le- like forty-eight domain rating and a lot more backlinks to virtualpostmail.com, and they have a lot more mentions overall from the internet. so here, if we look at the specific backlinks that they get to this page, True Residence, we see that they actually have a few, affiliate programs. So someone like The Professional Hobo, they-- he wrote about the best virtual mailbox services, and this is the type of blog post that works really well because you want that type of traffic, coming over to you, or linking to you because it's very relevant as a backlink. Because it's immediately clear that, this link that gets sent to Virtual Post Mail is a relevant link because this blog post by The Professional Hobo also ha- ranks a little bit on the internet and also gets its own backlinks, and those are the best types of links that you would get. So in your case, like as cloudresidents.com, what I would do is email The Professional Hobo, find all their contacts, and then tell them, "Hey, I saw you have a…" here's the email. "He- I saw you have an article about best virtual mailbox. you're linking to, True Residence." you can say you can first figure out, what are the referral program is. they have an affiliate link here clearly, that they're getting a promo- that they are promoting. So in your case, you would ideally do something similar. You would open, an affiliate program and try to match or exceed their, percentage. In this case, they're offering, a minimum payout of $40, and they reward 100% of your referrals first month subscription fee. And in this case, what you could do is you could say, "We'll offer you, 20% for every month, not just the first month of the subscription," right? For the first year, for example. And this could be very enticing for people like that. And based on this, because we know the f- that's the first strategy, right? We know that they are getting backlinks through their affiliate program in this way. We know now probably that we can find a lot of more of these referrals. So what we can do is look at this list from Ahrefs, figure out, the target URL, like refer.virtual, or just search for refer And now we found all their affiliates that are sending traffic to Virtual Postmail. And these are also the best types of links that you can get. to- now there's 219 links if you filter for one link per domain only. Now we found the list that gets them the most traffic from their referral program. For example, crazyegg.com also has an article on best virtual mailboxes, and then you could email and offer the same type of affiliate deal to them because now they have 1,000 traffic. Doola, Ecommerce Paradise, and all these other ones, these are really good people to email and offer, a similar scheme as well. So that is probably the best thing you can do that will get you the most results, because either you get paid, they already might have quite a bit of traffic, and/or, you can have some better partnership. you can also do it without the filter, for refer, and just look at everyone who's linking to Virtual Postmail and send everyone an email in this list. And you would repeat that process to everyone who, competes with your keywords. That is the way, to go in this case. For other keywords, like residential virtual address seems to be a good fit. But since you need more backlinks, I would follow that process. Look at the backlinks that the competitors get, here, residential virtual address, and then send more emails basically. So here we have Anytime Mailbox. We can look at their search traffic, which we, we looked at before, but also look at their backlinks. And for example, if we filter again on best links only, we can see that they have mail scanning services, they have, virtual mailbox for expats as a link. And do you want to get as many of those people as possible? Just send everyone an email, offer them like a better affiliate program or something similar, and that would be the best way to go to get your initial backlinks. Basically, start an affiliate program, email everyone who links to your competitors, and try to, to get links in this way. All right, I hope that helps. Good luck.

Cloud Residents SEO Audit

Cloud Residents SEO roast

Cloud Residents helps people outside the United States get a genuine U.S. residential address. The product targets a real need, especially among digital nomads, expats, and international customers who need a U.S. address for banking or other services.

The challenge is visibility: the domain is new, has almost no authority, and is not generating meaningful organic traffic yet. That makes the early SEO strategy especially important.

The biggest opportunity: own the search intent

The homepage already aligns reasonably well with searches around:

  • real U.S. residential address
  • remote U.S. residential address
  • residential virtual address
  • virtual mailbox for expats
  • virtual mailbox for banking

Some of these terms are small, but they are highly relevant. The strongest opportunity is to build a cluster around the use cases rather than relying on one broad homepage:

  1. Real U.S. residential address for non-U.S. residents
  2. Virtual mailbox for banking purposes
  3. Best virtual mailbox for expats
  4. Residential address vs. commercial or postal address
  5. What banks and services accept as a residential address?

Create dedicated landing pages for the highest-value use cases, then link them together with clear internal links.

Publish the banking guide competitors already have

Search results already contain useful guides about virtual mailboxes for U.S. banking. That is a strong signal that Cloud Residents should publish a more comprehensive version:

  • Explain the difference between a residential address, mailing address, and commercial mailbox
  • Be explicit about which use cases the service can and cannot support
  • Cover verification requirements and common limitations
  • Include a comparison of relevant alternatives
  • Add FAQs based on real customer questions

This type of article can attract both search traffic and links from communities where expats and digital nomads ask for recommendations.

Build authority through relevant partnerships

The domain has almost no high-quality backlinks, so the first links should be relevant rather than numerous. Virtual mailbox competitors are earning links from comparison articles, travel publications, business resources, and affiliate sites.

A practical playbook:

  1. Launch an affiliate program with a compelling recurring commission
  2. Find sites linking to virtual mailbox and residential-address competitors
  3. Offer those publishers a better product, clearer information, or a stronger commission
  4. Pitch travel, expat, fintech, and remote-work publications with the new banking guide
  5. Turn customer stories into case studies that partners can reference

The goal is not to copy a competitor's backlink count. It is to earn links from pages that already influence the exact audience Cloud Residents wants.

Homepage recommendations

  • Use a shorter, clearer title focused on “real U.S. residential address”
  • Add “remote” and “for non-U.S. residents” where they accurately describe the service
  • Make the banking and expat use cases visible above the fold
  • Link directly to the new use-case pages and guide
  • Add FAQ and Organization structured data where appropriate

What to do first

  1. Publish the dedicated banking guide and a residential-address explainer
  2. Create focused landing pages for expats, digital nomads, and banking use cases
  3. Start an affiliate program and contact sites linking to competing mailbox services
  4. Add internal links between the homepage, use-case pages, and editorial content
  5. Track impressions and conversions in Search Console as the content begins indexing

Cloud Residents has a focused product and a clear search narrative. The near-term win is not chasing broad “virtual mailbox” head terms; it is becoming the most useful result for people who specifically need a U.S. residential address from abroad.
