Hey everyone, welcome to another SEO roast. Today, we're taking a look at Botster, a no-code automation platform for data extraction, monitoring, and various SEO tasks. They claim to be a go-to automation tool that's fast, reliable, and great for non-coders. Let's dive in and see how well the website is optimized for search engines, what they're doing right, and what they might have room for improvement. Remember, this is meant to be constructive criticism as a roast and to help others learn SEO best practices. Let's take a look and let's get started. So the domain is Botster and it was purchased by Dennis at seoroast.org. And the domain has a very clear and good homepage. So it shows clearly some stuff that the tool is. For example, here we see my go-to automation tool is fast and reliable, and it's great for non-coders like myself. It has some examples of things that it can do. So it's a very clear and optimized way to show you exactly what it's for so that people who might be confused about Botster, they might make it clear what it is without having to scroll down and see what it is about. You can browse bots, get a custom solution, which goes to purchase stuff or custom bots. And otherwise you can check out the popular bots that are already here. I can order a custom bot for 150. And then you get a quote and you can start automating stuff. The tools that are being listed here, they're all in the slash bots real path. And they have some specifics like how you can create a bot, how to choose a bot and provide seed data. And it seems more like a structure of a blog post, which is really good because it's always works well and it's easy to add stuff onto because you can add examples, images, and change the format every time. So it's actually a really simple way to make a lot of pages quickly. You don't have to design or do a lot of complex stuff yourself. You can also get a lot of the custom solutions like extracting insights from the web. And let's check out the pricing. You pay with credits by popping up and paying as you go or by paying $25 per month. And then you get a bunch of credits automatically. Let's take a look at the on-page SEO first to see how they're doing. The content, the page title is correct. It has the data extraction, monitoring, and automation. So that is good because people do look for those terms. They look up something like what is data extraction. They look up monitoring, automation, and it's clear what it is in the description, your personal bot army, and so much more. The H1 tags, H2 tags are all good, except the final one, your files being prepared, doesn't really make so much sense, it seems. Otherwise, the content and code URL is all set. Technical SEO seems to be good. They're disallowing stuff like password reset and the robots text, which seems to be all properly done. They have no structured data. That's something they could add, and they are missing stuff from the Twitter card. But otherwise, they have a simple OG image set up, and the social graph is all good. They seem to be missing alt tags on all the images that they have. So that's some room for optimization because you can add stuff like Google logo or LinkedIn logo. Otherwise, Google doesn't really know what this stuff is about. So that would be a bit more helpful. Otherwise, let's dive into the Ahrefs data to see how they're doing. So the graph is really going well. Since around last year, they've been growing over time with organic traffic, and their domain rating has gotten a bigger bump recently than this year. The referring domains, it seems to be growing alongside of organic traffic, and that's something we often see. The more backlinks you get, which is a powerful signal, the more traffic you'll get over time. Let's take a look at their top pages to see how we're doing. So they're ranking for a lot of these bot pages, which are similar to the free-to-SEO strategy of making a bunch of bots. They also translated a few of them. For example, here, they translated the price monitoring for Amazon, and they even translated the video as well in YouTube, which is a very good signal. But they didn't translate all the images, which seems to be fine for SEO, but maybe something that could be improved to make it go really rank higher. But otherwise, they're actually getting really good traffic for stuff like Website Traffic Checker, Amazon Pricer Tracker, Web Contact Scraper, LinkedIn Search Without Login, Google Ranking Checkers, Guest Posts, TikTok Email Finders, and so on. If we check a few of these tools, one way to optimize a lot of these pages would be looking at what is, for example, currently ranking and how they could improve this position. For example, Google Map Extractor, the number five here, what we usually do is type this into Google to see the results that we're getting and to see how the SERP looks like. For example, the number one spot is taken over by gmapsextractor.com. That is a Chrome Web Store. Then it's GMPlus, Outscraper, and some other scrapers. For example, they could make a video that explains how the Google Map Extractor works, similar to this one, and this could help them rank a little bit higher. Other potential ways to rank here, except the homepage URL, like their own website, is by publishing in the Chrome Web Store or by making some part of it free on GitHub. So we see actually a few positions here because the word has Google in it, so Google makes sure to prioritize actually its own domain, such as google.com, because it's partly matching part of the domain ranking. So being able to have a Chrome Web Store item, for example, here we see mapscraper.net. They have a Chrome extension and they have all this information for free. So a potential way would be to make a plugin that also ranks you higher or to make some type of your app free and open source so that you could rank in GitHub. And that's a really powerful way of getting traffic because people, they see the code and they're like, okay, I'm like, I could fork it, or I could just use a tool, especially for bigger teams who are ready to actually make use of the software and pay for it. They will not end up self-hosting or doing it themselves 100% just because they can pay maybe like $50 and that will save at least a lot of time and money and effort of doing it yourself because even self-hosting or spending time to developers is already lost money, right? Another one that we see here is mapsleet.net. They made a Chrome extension. So each of your keywords that are ranking well, what I would try to advise is make sure that you understand what the SERP looks like. For here, they made a nice bot that is a blog post, but there might be other opportunities. For example, Google Map Extractor, the keyword potential are, to summarize, are YouTube, GitHub, and Chrome App Store. So those are like very interesting ways to rank higher. Let's check out a few other tools that are ranking well. We can sort it by value to figure out which keywords are the most valuable. Those are potentially better deals because people are ready to pay for it. The value, traffic value in Ahrefs means something like the cost per click over here. So the cost per click for Web Content Scraper as a keyword is $3. So people are ready to pay $3 to Google Ads to get in the sponsor position, which is over here, one, two, three, four spots, and they're all ready to pay $3. So if you click a few of them and make them pay, right? The volume here is 300 or so and the traffic potential is 200. This means the first or second position has potentially most of the traffic and it dies over time. So if you are ranking one or two, you potentially get 200 clicks more or less based on this traffic potential times $3, right? So we know this value of this position is about $600 of being in here. And we can confirm this by checking the number here, the traffic value in the bottom. This confirms it for this page, 400 to 1,600 potentially, because here we are ranking for a few more keywords. So this page has a bit more potential for Botster. The title seems to be good, Web Content Scraper. It says something about phone, email, and context scraper. One way that we could improve this potentially is by adding something like a web, phone, email, and web context scraper, or phone, email, and context scraper for the web, or something like this, or like online. And this could potentially work better for this specific keyword. Other keywords that this position is also ranking for, if we check it here by volume, is phone number extractor. If we check this specific keyword, it seems to be that Botster is potentially ranking for this. Let us check by typing in the filter here and doing this keyword filter. And now we see everything that Botster ranks for in terms of this keyword. And here, if you click on this, we see the position history over time. We see that the best page for this keyword, phone number extractor, which is wildly popular and also has a high cost per click, that it is a contact data scraper. So one potential that could bring even more money, if we do a quick summary like this, $1 cost per click, 3,000 volume, this means about $3,000 in traffic value, as we recalled earlier. So instead of making a phone, email, and context scraper, we should make a phone number extractor as a bot. And this could potentially get you a lot more traffic because it's a lot more optimized, it's using the right slug in the URL, and it's using the right keywords throughout the page. And the details that you write in your blog posts are a bit more optimized. So other ones that we see here are email scraper, which is also potential number three, data scraper, and web context scraper. So what I would try to do here for this specific page is change it to web context scraper and make two different bots that are phone number scraper and email scraper. And you would potentially rank a lot higher for all of them and convert in a better way because people who are looking for a phone number extractor specifically, they don't really care so much about email potentially, but they just want those specific details. So that's a really powerful way to rank a little bit higher. Let's check a few other ones. Website traffic checker, commercial mortgage leads, Google review bot is interesting. Let's take a look at this one, see what else it's ranking for, and sort by volume again. And then we see Google review search tool, buy Google Maps reviews, and the Google reviews bot is quite popular and they are getting traffic on this. And it's a low KD keyword as well. So people say don't use a fake traffic bot, buy a real human SEO clicks, something that people try to sell you as a CTR manipulation tactic, which is black hat. The things that are ranking here is as Reddit, people are interested in this tool. One way that you would be able to rank bots through here is go through all of these pages and also mention your own software and the comments. Just do it in a helpful way and not in a spammy way, and then you will do potentially well. One way that also helps is by checking people also ask, seeing what else is being written and see what the title is for those pages. And then you could potentially write about those topics as well to rank higher. Otherwise, we see again, GitHub potentially, black hat forum, similar way as Reddit, you can make a comment or you make a new post and then this segment. And here we see potentially number nine and number 10. You can make a page on Fiverr for doing this type of work. I will help you get more Google reviews using bot, right? So people can directly pay for this. And the pricing here seems to be about 150 up to 1000. So this is a really interesting way. You could sell immediate services on Fiverr instead of using your own domain, that would be quite good. Or you make a blog post on Google Maps, similar to this one that explains here, I believe some code, some sample code. And in the end, you have a call to action to their Upwork or your own Fiverr page and to get started with your own bot. So really use all the possible ways of trying to rank Fiverr, Medium, black hat forum, Reddit, and so on to get a better position instead of your own homepage. And also mention your own, mention bots faster, Google will be able to use that information to rank you higher. I hope some of these tips help you rank higher for all of your bots, but otherwise I see like you already have a really good amount of potential and that's a really quick roast. You're doing really well. This is my best tips, good luck.
