All right, some good news. We got our first sale and that is better. Let's take a look at this website and see if there's anything that I can find that we can improve in terms of SEO, what they're doing currently, and if there's any gaps that they might not be filling. This is very similar to a previous audit that I did and it's about AI headshot generators. So what they're focused on is creating 4K AI headshots from selfies or casual photos. There's something interesting that is going on here as well and that's mostly related to having more people that are obviously different color or ethnicities. So that could potentially Google a little bit more to play with. Sometimes you notice some things like if you type in a search term like couple holding hand, right? On Google, you will see that they prioritize also like a mix of people and it will be different types of, it's not different. So even if you search something like a white couple holding hands, you still see some black and white. That's why it's actually giving you black and white results instead of color, but also obviously black and white results. That is something to keep in mind. As you see with Gemini, they prioritize sometimes different colors. It's good and important to have some type of diversity in your website as well and in pictures. That is one good thing that I noticed right away and otherwise maybe let's start for checking quickly the landing page and if there's anything wrong with the on-page SEO. So the first thing that we see is the title, yeah, headshot, professional headshot and this is all good and on point. The headings are all fine. It might be potentially too many specific headings, but this seems all right and for the sitemap, it's good. There is one at least and they have the ideas like near me, partners, pipes, blog, and which is quite a big one, but they do focus on the strategy about localizing your terms. So they do have a lot of data. They have structured data set up, which is for example here, just a better big front end instead of the actual website name, which could potentially be more about like AI headshot. So the name could be better big and description could be AI headshot anyway. Here, you could also add something like an offers or like a product and do a structured data, but it really depends. I don't know if it will work out so well for it in any case. Otherwise, we have a social media tag, which is this one, which really includes like everything that AdWords said is about. So that is really good. The images have the right alt tag and we can start with checking the domain rating on it. We got the data on better pig for new chefs and it's showing us that they do have a long growing trend that they're actually positioned for evolving and they are spending some money on that, on the traffic and they are getting traffic that is growing over time, which is a good sign. We can take a look at what their top pages are and it currently, photo studio is near me. So this is an interesting localized keyword. As you'll see near me is obviously different for everyone in different countries. So a lot of people search for this like a photo studio and now in the USA only, it has a search volume of 12,000, but worldwide it can be up to 800K. So it's actually quite a lot and here because I'm in Basel, it's showing me the specific area. So this, as you'll see near me, will show you a lot of data in all the different countries. So as they add more cities or add more countries, it will be added over time. So this is an interesting way of also getting traffic for it. So what they started is doing like a nice programmatic SEO setup. They're getting a lot of traffic from different places. They have localized reviews and people talking about these places, but over time they need to make sure that they convert and that could be true like a targeted city at the bottom. You could save 87% of professional photos, wherever you are, but it's still giving some benefit in having these pages as well, because especially because they have better big here, the second one, but that is like an interesting way of doing it. You place three or two real studios and then you place your AI headshot in the third position. But it is actually an interesting idea of really doing this types of traffic because headshots near me is a growing term worldwide, or like photo studios near me, but that is a good idea to try. And it does give them a lot of traffic if we check for near me like this, we will see that they are growing mostly on this segment. So it has 3,000 ton traffic. Or if we check for about, we're actually left at 400 and that is not in the near me segment. So that is like their best programmatic SEO and it's really giving them a lot of boost in it. Otherwise, I think they need to also rank for everything that is not near me and that could be stuff like the blog. Let's take a look here. They're growing rapidly. So that is really nice. They managed to find a few really good keywords and here they got from zero to 140 is a good rise, but they have stepped up the game since April or May or so. And now it is really growing. So one of the better ones is more like a business photo generator. And then it's things like how it can be a good one. But what I like about this blog post specifically is that it really seems to set up in a good way. It focuses on the primary keyword. It has the dates and everything in it that requires a good ranking and like the headings are very good. Even here they have a little bit more specific structured data. And so this website is really well set up for SEO. And the article seems to be comprehensive. It has like a nice white background. It has images that are set up. So potentially to rank even higher, you need to check more on the keyword specifically for this page. So business photo AI, and then you see what is also ranking in here. Currently, I don't see them right away because it's built like a general purpose. AI headshot generator result, but the better picture to position 11 because it has a rating that they added, which is also like one of the structured data. Potentially if someone scrolls all the way through, you'll be able to see their website. Probably something that I would try to improve here is that they have zero backlinks to this specific page. So if you get linked to this page, that would really help them. Something that I haven't shown in other reports yet is using the plus by links page. And then you can see all the pages that you actually get external links from. So here they target all their domains, but here they target, you can see all of the external backlink that are coming to each of their website. So most of your backlinks are coming to their homepage or either through affiliate like via Unite AI, but the other pages like company headshots or near me, they have just a small list. For example, Las Palmas, they have made some backlinks from a studio photo AI, which probably is another website that they created or some type of affiliate or just a clone, potentially. But it seems to be targeted for all their Spanish keywords. So that is interesting too. They have a lot of affiliates as well here. And here you can see them by checking all their query parameter. But otherwise, if you check something like the blog, you don't really see that many backlinks. So what I would try to do is for every blog that you write, make sure that you get at least one backlink to that page. If you have a business photo generator, get at least one backlink and suddenly you will shoot up from position 12 to position five or maybe position four. And then you get more backlinks over time. And next important step is getting more internal links to boost up your photos. So these are the pages sorted by the amount of internal links that you add to them. So for example, how to do AI headshots, they have a lot of backlink internal links from all different types of pages, linking back to this, how to do AI headshot page. This could be in the text naturally, something like this. They have a link to internal headshot tools, but also here in related topics, it's quite easy, but it's even better to add more specific internal link throughout your website. So if you notice like a specific page is ranking really well, like your near me articles or another page, we should add more internal link to that specific source. For example, here we see that this blog post about AI LinkedIn headshot, it has a high UR rating. That means that it has a really nice amount of internal links from different sources. So it's a little bit more powerful compared to other pages. So here you should add more links to other content. Make sure that you keep doing this, for example, top AI headshot tools and has nice backlinks, but then internal links potentially from the homepage or potentially from other powerful pages. So what you really need to do is see where all the link juice is coming from, like your top page, either by checking the amount of links here or external backlinks and making sure that you filter out and pass on the link juice from your homepage, which is 24 UR to all the other pages on your website, specifically blogs. And that will spread out the link equity and boost up like your entire blog over time. So it is really important to do once you have a nice setup already, which you already do, you need to add more internal link to your blog post and power everything up. And you can even make like link magnet. For example, you could make an article about AI headshot statistics to talk about like how more common are headshots being created. For example, Washington Post people will link to this page. As we can see here, it has a lot of referring backlinks from all sorts of websites, even sector AI or other pages will link back to this Washington Post to add like a link that have been mentioned and other people writing about this topic, like other journalists, they will also link back to the Washington Post or other page. So that's because they see them as a potential news source. So the more specific type of statistics or information for graphics you have, for example, are AI headshot safe or will AI headshot save you money? That type of content marketing would be really important. But these are called more like link magnet blog posts. And that's like a type of blog post that is really attracting more links. For example, statistic, or example, if you look for something like content marketing statistics, there's always like an article out there. And Forbes or other pages will get like a ton of backlink. They will get like 1000, 500 or backlink that are specific pages, because other art writers will use one of these numbers and then they will link back to somewhere to this page. That's why they made it easy to copy that you link to this sort. But that's very important that you want to try something all the time. Otherwise, other strategies could be making some type of like free tool, maybe like an optimizer or maybe some case studies that you can say, okay, this company use like a better pick to create like more content and they managed to sell more or something. And other people writing about this, they will link back to your case study to show, okay, here's proof that yeah, headshots work. That is very powerful. Otherwise, I see you have also types. Let's check quickly the type of content in the path here. We had this specific segment has no backlinks and the traffic is going well, medium. Okay, it's had video poses, model headshots and so on, therapist headphones. So that is an interesting aspect to get like more programmatic video out there. The only thing that I see is it doesn't actually rank so well. It has everything position 10 plus, so it doesn't really get so much traffic. What you need to do is again, get more external backlink back to these pages. So that will really help and set you up for more growth. I hope that helps.

AI Headshot Generator

Actual roast notes

The teardown

No template scorecard here. The details below come from this specific audit.

I Audited BetterPic's AI Headshot Generator Site - Here's What I Found

Untitled.png

I recently did a live SEO audit of BetterPic's AI headshot generator website to analyze their organic strategies, traffic sources, and areas for improvement. After digging into their site, here are my key findings and recommendations:

Landing Page Analysis

Untitled.png

BetterPic's landing page has solid on-page SEO fundamentals:

  • Optimized title tag and headings
  • Diversity in images showing AI headshots of different ethnicities
  • Structured data markup
  • Relevant alt text on images

However, the structured data could be improved by changing the name to "BetterPic" and description to "AI Headshot Generator". They could also potentially add an "offers" or "product" schema.

Domain Rating & Traffic

Untitled.png

Checking BetterPic's domain rating and traffic trends in Ahrefs, we see:

  • Long-term organic traffic growth, a positive sign
  • Spending on paid ads to drive additional traffic

Untitled.png

  • Top organic pages are localized "photo studios near me" pages

The "near me" pages are an interesting play on programmatic SEO to capture local search traffic for photo studios. This strategy alone is driving most of their organic traffic growth.

Blog Content Analysis

Untitled.png

BetterPic's blog is also driving strong organic growth through articles like "Business Photo Generator: The Ultimate Guide".

Untitled.png

What's working well:

  • Targeting relevant keywords
  • Publishing comprehensive, in-depth content
  • Clean page layouts with optimized headings and images

Untitled.png

To rank these pages even higher, BetterPic should focus on building high-quality backlinks specifically to the blog posts. Currently, most of their backlinks go to the homepage.

Backlink Profile

Untitled.png

Analyzing BetterPic's backlink profile reveals:

  • Homepage has the most referring domains
  • Blog posts and local pages have few backlinks
  • Some links coming from potential affiliate sites

To improve, BetterPic should aim to get at least 1 high-quality, relevant backlink to each blog post they want to rank. This will help boost search rankings.

Internal Linking

Untitled.png

Internal linking passes link equity to important pages. BetterPic has done a good job internally linking to key pages like "How to do AI Headshots".

Untitled.png

To optimize further:

  • Add more contextual internal links in blog post body content
  • Link from high UR pages to newer blog posts to boost their authority

Content Marketing Opportunities

Untitled.png

To earn more backlinks naturally, BetterPic could invest in creating "link magnet" content pieces like:

  • Original research/statistics on AI headshot usage
  • Infographics on benefits of AI headshots
  • Unique case studies showing how AI headshots drove results

Untitled.png

This type of content is more likely to get cited and linked to from other websites.

Other Recommendations

Untitled.png

  • Build out "types of headshots" pages with more backlinks to rank
  • Consider creating a free tool like an AI headshot optimizer
  • Pursue digital PR to get featured on top publications

Wrap Up

Untitled.png

Overall, BetterPic has a strong SEO foundation with a diverse organic strategy spanning localized pages, blogging, and solid on-page optimization.

The biggest opportunities are around link building - creating more "link-worthy" content and actively promoting blog posts to acquire backlinks.

By doubling down on these areas, BetterPic can accelerate their organic traffic growth and dominate the AI headshot space.
