Hey everyone, welcome back to another SEO audit. Today we'll be looking at Backpack for Laravel. I'm a huge TypeScript user and I know that Laravel is big in the area. So let's take a look at what the ultimate admin panel builder for Laravel has to offer. It's being used by a lot of people everywhere and you can see immediately on the website what it does. So it helps you create an update list, delete and bulk delete clone and so on. You can get started in a minute just by installing and it has advanced UX for tables, tools and services like generating code, Figma templates, CRUD templates and a bunch of testimonials. So this looks really good. Let's dive in to the SEO by first checking the on-page SEO and technical SEO for the homepage. Here we see that we have Backpack for Laravel in the end and then Build Laravel Admin Panels, fast. If we Google something like Build Laravel Admin Panels, we see that Backpack for Laravel is one of the first ones. What Google does, it reverses the order of the title. So that's something that sometimes happens if Google thinks that it's more correct in this way. And for example, here we see that it's the opposite. So what you can do, what I generally also do is place the brand name on the homepage first. So you would have something like Backpack for Laravel and then semicolon Build Laravel Admin Panels, fast. So everything else is here good. It just might give you some better results in some cases. Otherwise, we have the description that reaches a little bit long. You can make it a little bit shorter so that it doesn't get cut off. Here we can see that it ends at an incredible price and that here the description is actually a little bit different than what is being shown in Google. So here we have this result and Google doesn't show us this at all. So we use Backpack, our main product, to create Admin Panels. If we Google Backpack for Laravel instead, it might show us the normal regular title. Here we see it's not been easy to build customized Admin Panels. See what happens when professionals have been using Backpack for Laravel every day. So that one is also not really being used. It's actually using this one and this one. So it's actually using this text here as a description. So that's maybe something that Google thinks it's more relevant than what is being shown here. So you can change the description to the one that is being displayed. That would also be more correct and less intensive for Google to update. Here we have a Google Maps pack, but there is no review, so it would be maybe useful and helpful to give a little review so that people see, they see some stars when they load up the page. Everything else that we see is a GitHub, Laravel News, GitHub X, Facebook. So they have a few profile backlinks already that are being used. So that's all good, except a few changes here. There's a few multiple H1 tags. That's not a good sign. So for example, you have these numbers, 2 million unique downloads, 30,000. These should never be H1 tags. Usually the H1 tag is the title of the page. Here there's none, except Backpack for Laravel would be the most fitting one, or Admin Panels for Laravel. These should never be H1. The next H2 would be this one. And then you could make these like a H3, H3, H3, and then H2 for this title, and then H2 for here. It just divides the page into multiple sections. That's generally how you use your headings, but never as a number or something else, or not smaller sections. For example, First Time or Features like this, this shouldn't also be like a heading. It's being misused. It should be more seen as a table of contents that divides your page into different sections. So that would be more helpful. You have a canonical URL, your robust text is correct, and you don't have a structured data. The schema.org can be very helpful. Just make sure that you have that. The social media thing, it has Backpack. That's good. Maybe you can add like for Laravel on the bottom, and then some more information, what it is, like a description. So let's go right into the general Ahrefs overview. Here we see that you have decent amounts of traffic already. For the last previous years, it's growing, but it's mostly about the same. Most of the traffic is coming from USA and India, Indonesia, Brazil. So people who are more generally developers or have a bigger population. So your top pages right now are Laravel Backpack. You have about 150 volumes. So people are looking specifically for the brand term. And you have Laravel Admin Panel. This is really good. So that's generally what you want to rank for. If someone searches Laravel Admin Panel, you want to show up. So the other results that we see here are not super relevant. Let's expand this a little bit. So we have Pageview Artisan, Laravel Model, Laravel Pagination, Logs, Logging. These are good, but they're like very high position. This generally means that you don't really have these pages yourself, or something like Easy Admin. Laravel Admin Panel seems to be the best term for you. It is, let me check the trend chart. It is growing over this period. So we see that from 2014, it has been going up, but now it's mostly stable. So people are aware of the need of an Admin Panel. They want to buy one potentially and use it. So that's a good sign that your amounts, like that you're in a niche that is growing. You just, you need to be sure that you are ranking here higher. So now you're in position five. The other ones are Filament. And your domain rate is 59. So Filament is 67 domain rating. And they have a Laravel development, and like a section of components. So they have all different kinds of components, including an Admin Panel. And their traffic is growing recently. So they have some top pages as well. So Filament to the Grid. And one of the best ones is like a use cases for Laravel Admin Panel, and they're ranking number three for that. The other ones are like Filament itself, Filament to the Grid, Filament Colors, and Laravel Form Builder, and some other docs that are working well for just like being a doc page with a lot of PHP stuff. The other one is Laracasts. Then it's a forum where someone asks like what is the best Laravel Admin Panel. Someone answers Filament Admin, which is why the other one is showing up. Ideally, you want to show up that someone talks about like you, backpack. So here you are. If we click on this one, we have the CRUD version for Laravel Backpack, which is your open source version. So there's a few other ones. The most popular Admin Panel is 2024. Filament, Laravel Backpack. So you are well represented already here. It's just, I guess it's because like you need a few more uploads. So if there's a potential that you could have someone comment and say make an account and answer like the Backpack for Laravel a few more times and then get some friends to upload this page, you would potentially rank a little bit higher than Sean here. That will help you get a bit more traffic as well because a lot of people will show up for these pages. For Laracasts in general, it's nice that they have a forum. That's something that Google prioritizes these days. And we see that there's a lot of discussion pages being ranked. So that's also like a potential way for you to get more traffic, just being more active in that community and answering stuff around like Aristotle's or batch versus put, or other types of content that is similar. If we do a quick search for like Admin Panel, you will see the pages that are being ranked for anything to do with admin in the keyword. And we see that we have Laravel Admin Panel, which is the CMS versus Admin Panel discussion. And so this is also like a good list of pages where you could potentially rank a little bit higher because for example, here we see that this page is ranking for Laravel Admin Panel as well, but also like CMS Admin Panel, Laravel Admin Template, Tailwind Admin Template, Admin Table, and so on. So you could go to this list for everything related to the Admin Panel. I'll give you a list of this in the uploads and then add a comment similar to that as well. That's what I would try. So Laravel Novel is similar. It's the official simplest and quickest way to build administration panels using Laravel. They will probably outrank you in most cases because they just have a lot of backlinks to the specific page and it will be very hard to outrank them except if you focus on more and more specific blocks than they would have. We can do a quick competitive analysis to compare you to them. If we drop this in here and then Laravel Novel as well, we can see which pages that they rank for that you don't potentially. And that's a good way, just filtering on this domain. And that would be a good way for you to know what you can do to rank higher. So if we check USA traffic and pages that you don't have, you could, for example, let's do both. There's a more fair comparison. So they are ranking for Nova, Login, Cloud Nova, Stability Gate. So let's do top 10 instead. So Laravel Novel Filters, Laravel Admin, Nova Tools, Dashboard is good as well. Laravel Dashboard is something that people use. They have a specific dashboard page which shows like a nice dashboard and some code examples. Potentially this could be helpful for you to make a similar page as well because you're just ranking on the home here and Laravel Admin could potentially be higher. So you are ranking though for Laravel Admin Dashboard but not for Dashboard in general. So you have stuff like Search, Laravel Nova Packages, How to Download Nova. It's not super relevant, I would say. So. For otherwise, if we continue here, we have Backpack Pro, which is something that people Google for you to find you apparently or like a pro version, like a Laravel price. You're ranking quite well for this. Laravel Crud, which is the article on the crud operations, how to generate a Laravel crud in five minutes. This is really good. This is the type of content that people would expect to find on your blog. So I would focus on actually focusing on writing more articles like this one and making them like a little bit more high quality if you can. For example, choose boring technology, Laravel Lighthouse, what is an admin panel stack? The problem right now is that most of these are actually ranking on 10 plus, 20 plus. So you're not really getting the traffic that you could. I think if you focus on improving those posts and maybe writing them, adding a few more tips here and there, making them a little bit longer, that would be more helpful and you could potentially rank higher. You could go to this list like this right away and then focus on improving those specific pages. So the way that you generally do that, for example, is, okay, you have some page like why, the page is like, why build an admin panel for your website or app? But the page here is like, the keyword that is ranking for this is, wow, what is an admin panel? That question is not per se being answered. So having those keywords in place as well will be more helpful. You could add a page like in the top, why build an admin panel for your website or app? And then start like for page two that says, what is an admin panel? And then really answer that specific question more in depth. So if someone goes, what is an admin panel? Like the thing that you want to show is something like this, either in FAQ or in the top of the page that explains like, what is an admin panel? And that seems to rank quite well. Or something like here, an admin panel is blah, blah, blah, right? So you would have this specific page as well, just add an H2 on the top and see if you can improve the pages, compare them to the other competitors that are ranking for that keyword and keep going. So that's the tips that I can provide right now. You have mostly a good blog. You're already getting a bit of traffic. It's just like, it's mostly like a relatively specific niche, just for Laravel. But I think focusing on traffic from Lara Casts as well and going to that list of forums and if you can answer something, improving your articles, that will help you the most because you already have a decent domain rating. You have a bunch of really good backlinks already. You just need to focus on improving your articles that are ranking for some keywords, but not getting the traffic right now So doing like an overview where you go through all your blogs in the past and improving them one by one, this will really help you go from 222 traffic to maybe 500 plus. So that will double your traffic at least for those pages. And if you're answering more often on Reddit or Lara Casts or other forums, it will also be helpful because you're training Google to understand more that, okay, backpack is something related to Laravel and you will rank potentially higher for your main keywords as well. So doing those things is really important, but it will take a bit of time. Ideally, if I give you that list from the top pages you just go through them one by one and see if you find some time to improve it. I hope it helps. Good luck.
